If you choose not to use HMRC Online Services to set up client authorisations, you can ask your client to complete paper form 64-8 for agent authorisation or form FBI 2 for authorisation to use the PAYE for employers/Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) online service. But there are some exceptions.

HMRC reminds over 1.4 million employers they must start reporting PAYE in real time from 6 April 2013.

HMRC has produced a short ‘At a glance guide’ which gives a quick overview of the changes to operating PAYE that reporting in real time will bring. This guide, in conjunction with our ‘business readiness checklist’ will help you and your clients get ready to start sending PAYE information to HMRC in real time.
