REAL TIME INFORMATION GUIDANCE FOR PILOT EMPLOYERS

24 April 2012

HMRC have published detailed Real Time Information (RTI) guidance for employers who are taking part in the RTI pilot.

This has been launched as a 'beta' version so employers do not confuse it with the current guidance for those not in the RTI pilot. It will be continually updated as the pilot continues.

If you have any feedback on this guidance please use the "Feedback" facility in the banner heading of each page.

RTI PILOT FORGES ON

10 May 2012

HMRC has confirmed that a further 310 employer schemes will join the Real Time Information (RTI) pilot following its launch last month.

Over 100,000 employee records have been successfully received by HMRC since 10 volunteer employers joined the RTI pilot on 11 April. The additional employers will join the pilot between 8 May and the end of June. RTI will make it easier for employers, pension providers and HMRC to administer PAYE. Employers and pension providers will tell HMRC about PAYE payments at the time they are made – as opposed to only at the end of the year.

Stephen Banyard, Acting Director General for Personal Tax, said:

“It’s early days, but all the signs are good. RTI is on track - all expected PAYE submissions have been received from the 10 pilot employers and processed.

“The whole point of the pilot is to identify any implementation issues. So far, these have been very few and they have been quickly resolved.

“We are working closely with the employers in the pilot who have helped us identify and solve any issues. We have improved our guidance and support for employers and software vendors as a result of the insight and feedback gained. We are very grateful for the valuable contribution the pilot employers and software developers have made”.
