that deter non-compliance but do not create needless burdens for either employers or HMRC.
NINO VERIFICATION REQUESTS
14 December 2012
Excerpt from HMRC Newsletter
Message about NINO Verification Requests We have seen a number of cases where NINO Verification Requests (NVRs) from employers in the Real Time Information (RTI) pilot have been rejected. In some cases, this is because HMRC has not yet received and processed a Full Payment Submission (FPS). We cannot process an NVR until after you have ‘joined’ RTI. If you submit an Employer Alignment Submission (EAS), followed by your first FPS, you need to wait a few days after sending that FPS before sending an NVR. This is because we need to have processed the FPS before we can deal with an NVR. If your first submission is an FPS, you should also wait a few days after sending that FPS before sending an NVR for the same reason. There are more details about NVRs at this link .

REAL TIME INFORMATION PROCEDURES
20 December 2012
HMRC’s Software Developers Support Team has issued an email to developers which will be of interest to anyone starting to report PAYE in real time from 6 April 2013.
The following information has been issued to clarify some guidance for RTI procedures.
Employers Newly Mandated from 6 April 2013 – Important Information
As you are aware, all employers will be required to start reporting PAYE in real time from their first payday on or after 6 April 2013, unless HMRC has specified an alternative date.
We have been asked for guidance to clarify procedures for employers starting to report PAYE in real time from 6 April 2013.
The scheduled enterprise release will go live at 6am on 6 April 2013. Employers submitting via the Internet should expect to receive acknowledgements from the Government Gateway and the results of HMRC validation as normal on 6 April. If the success/failure response is not immediate, please ask your clients not to press resend until the validation outcome is known as this could create duplicate returns.
