THE CIPP SURVEYS ON THE MINOR SCHEME AMENDMENTS TO THE NEST PENSION SCHEME

Due to recent changes made by the DWP to pension legislation, NEST has subsequently evaluated their scheme rules. They are proposing some minor amendments. Normally the CIPP would not survey specific pension scheme rule changes, however as NEST has a statutory obligation to accept all employers; the CIPP would like to offer members the opportunity to respond via their representative body in this survey . The consultation document and NEST’s thinking behind the changes can be found here . The document spans some 50 plus pages and policy have, where possible, given a brief explanation of the change to support the question asked. The closing date for CIPP members is 19 November to ensure the policy team can submit a response by the closing date of 26 November. Thank you in advance for completing the survey which should take you approximately 15 minutes. The DWP are also calling for evidence in respect of the some of the restrictions to the NEST pension scheme, compared to other commercial pension providers. Policy will be surveying you in the coming weeks to ascertain your thoughts in this area.
