These documents have also been added to the new General Consultation SIG (Specialist Interest Group).
Many members will be aware of the dedicated SIGs such as Real Time Information and Automatic Enrolment and earlier in the year we added a new one called; Policy & Research – General Consultations. The Policy team will post general consultation information here and this SIG will also be used to let you know about issues that members have asked us to raise at consultation forums on their behalf.
See the Policy Consultation Diary on the CIPP website for details of forthcoming meetings.
If you do have an issue you would like raised at one of the forums please email details to policy@cipp.org.uk with the title of the appropriate forum in the subject line. The progress from these queries/issues will be posted on the General Consultations SIG. To see the full list of SIGs that are currently available go to the membership area of the CIPP website. To register email info@cipp.org with your membership number and the name of the SIG you would like to join and your log in details will then be sent on to you
SINGLE COMPLIANCE PROCESS UPDATE FOR AGENTS
10 October 2012
Following the Single Compliance Process (SCP) initial trial phase, HMRC has extended the original trial phase for further testing in some of the more technically complex compliance checks This work will help HMRC to understand more about how customers will benefit from an SCP approach. It will also allow the department to gather additional information to establish that indicative benefits will be seen across the broader range of cases - particularly those that lasted longer than the initial trial period. The decision to further test the process should not been seen as an indication that any assumptions have been made on the future of the SCP. The process is still being tested and while there are many positive indications, lessons continue to be learnt on the best design of the process and its impact.
