Student Events Student Movie Night Thursday, September 4, 5:30 – 8 p.m. Need a study break? Come enjoy a movie night with free snacks and drinks. We’ll start with a scavenger hunt around the theme of jazz, then watch Pixar’s “Soul.” The hunt starts at 5:30 p.m. and the movie screens at 6:30 p.m. This program is presented with support from Anne & Bill Newton and Bill Parker. Student Night Thursday, October 9, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Our fall Student Night explores the theme of self-expression through fashion. Join us in celebrating our special exhibition “Brilliant Exiles: American Women in Paris, 1900 – 1939.” Be inspired by the incredible women and fashion in the exhibition and come dressed in your finest 1920s – 2020s outfits. We will have a fashion contest with prizes from the Museum Shop. Enjoy free food in the lobby, check out the galleries and try hands-on activities inspired by the exhibition. This program is presented with support from Anne & Bill Newton and Bill Parker. Study Break Wednesday, December 3, noon – 4:30 p.m. Need a break from studying for final exams? Students are invited to stop by the museum on Reading Day to participate in one of our art and wellness programs or take a pause and enjoy some art in the galleries at their own pace. Snacks, coffee and refreshments provided. This program is presented in partnership with UGA’s Office of Student Care and Outreach and with support from Anne & Bill Newton and Bill Parker. Workshops + Classes Creative Aging Seated Yoga Thursday, September 4, November 6, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Join us in the galleries for gentle seated yoga led by Raquel Durden. This class will include restorative stretching, deep breathing and mindfulness. All levels and abilities are welcome. Creative Aging programs are geared to ages 55+. Seats are limited; email gmoa- Friday, August 15, September 12, October 10, November 14, December 5, 9:30 – 10 a.m. Come rest and recharge in the galleries surrounded by inspiring art. Experienced mindfulness instructors lead guided meditations, gentle movements and slow- looking techniques. This program is free, stools are provided, and no experience or special attire is needed. Morning Mindfulness Join us for a free yoga class surrounded by works of art in the galleries. Led by instructors from Five Points Yoga, this program is free and open to both beginner and experienced yogis. Sanitized mats are provided. Space is limited and spots are available on a first-come, first- served basis; tickets are available at the lobby desk starting at 5:15 p.m. Creative Aging Art Workshop Tuesday, August 19, October 21, December 16, 10 – 11:30 a.m. Lifelong learning through the arts offers opportunities to practice creativity and create community. Join teaching artist Toni Carlucci in the galleries to look at and talk about art in the permanent collection, then come to the studio classroom to make art and new friends. All levels are welcome. Creative Aging programs are geared to ages 55+. Seats are limited; email gmoa-tours@uga.edu to register. Figure Drawing Open Studio Saturday, September 13, November 1, 2 – 4 p.m. Sketch from a live model in this free workshop open to all levels. Drawing supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own materials too. Seats are limited; email gmoa-tours@uga.edu to register.

Available in both English and Spanish, they include gallery activities, art supplies and looking prompts that can be completed at your own pace. These self-guided tours are free and perfect for a family visit. Recommended for ages 5 – 14.
