TIGERTIGER will be doing his best work late in the run. Whilst FUTURE SCORE and SALTO ANGEL will be in it for a long way.

ROY HIGGINS Roy Henry Higgins MBE (1938–2014) was one of Australia’s greatest riders, winning eleven Melbourne Jockeys’ Premiership between 1965 and 1978. Among his career highlights were his twelve winners at the 1972 VRC three-day Autumn Carnival. Five times he rode five winners at a meeting. Roy began riding at Deniliquin, NSW, and retired from the saddle in October 1983 with more than 2500 winners. He won top-class races all over Australia including Melbourne Cups on Light Fingers (1965) and Red Handed (1967). Roy was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Racing Museum. His statue graces Flemington racecourse.
