and pallets and paper. We reached out to our suppliers in the early stages of the pandemic and were fortunate that our suppliers valued our relationship and they made it a point to say, “We’re going to make sure you’re going to be taken care of in terms of what you’ve been ordering and we’re not going to let you down.”
seeing them face to face. We did the same thing with our customers. We had to find unique ways, when we did get the opportunity to get in front of the customer, that we had something meaningful to share. Stoler : We’re very fortunate to have a lot of good re- lationships with our suppliers. Throughout the past three years we’ve been able to stay close and in many cases work and collaborate to find solutions for problems we’re all facing together. We’re fortunate to be partners in a sheet plant and we may have had a better experience than some of our integrated friends, but like the entrepreneur- ial members that we are, we’re all working together to try to solve problems and we have each other’s backs. Starbucks Begins EMEA Pilot For Returnable Cup Program
Seattle, Washington based Starbucks announced it will begin the first EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) pilots of its new returnable cup program – allowing cus- tomers to opt for a reusable in the same way they would a single use cup. Without needing to remember to bring their own cup, customers can ask for their beverage to be served in a reusable cup when ordering their beverage. They would put down a £1 deposit when ordering, which will be fully refunded when the cup is returned. The cups will then be professionally cleaned and sanitized before further reuse. All customers opting for a returnable cup will also receive Starbucks usual 25p reusable discount. This program also builds on progress from Starbucks global reusable cup pilot programs in Seattle, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo, and has been designed to work seamlessly for Starbucks partners (employees) to avoid creating addition- al work.
