Feature Artist Gerri Mitchell
As a longtime friend and fellow photographer/artist it is only natural that changes occur along the way, but it was a great surprise to see the soulful paintings that Gerri began to produce once she moved to the mountains of North Carolina. It was as though a new avenue of self expression was unleashed. Her paintings reveal many layers of depth and intrigue. Her color pallet and techniques create a uniformity in this body of work. Each painting, along with a thoughful title can be enjoyed exclusively, yet as a body of work is intriguing and thought provoking. I decided to present her work as simply as possible so as not to distract from the impact. No more words are needed.
