This photo captures a special moment for our family, my husband, Garrett, and our son, Ryan, racing in their very first event in Pahrump, NV this October. The car belongs to Meco Racing, a family legacy started by Morley (“Grandpa”), the father of Garrett’s best friend, Mike. After Mike’s passing three years ago, and his wife Mel earlier this year, Morley told Garrett, “Take the new car, race it, you deserve it.”
Garrett and our boys completely prepped and wired the car themselves, passing tech inspection and making their first race a reality. This past week we were off to Laughlin, NV, where Garrett and Ryan raced again alongside Grant, our godson, with Morley, the sisters, and the whole family cheering them on. A meaningful race for all of us.
