Our AHL family is heartbroken by the loss of Doug Lawrence, a remarkable leader, mentor, and friend who joined us in July 2023 and became an unforgettable part of our culture and our hearts. Team, but his true impact reached far beyond job titles or metrics. He built connection. He built confidence. He built people. Doug had a rare gift: he made every person feel seen, valued, and welcome. He led with kindness, humor, humility, and an unwavering belief in others. He listened deeply, encouraged generously, and created moments of joy in even the busiest days. Whether he was sharing stories (and he had endless ones), offering support during a stressful moment, or turning an ordinary outing into a memory, Doug made work, and life, brighter. Doug was selfless in the way he showed up for others. Charismatic in the way he energized a room. Genuine in the way he shared his heart. And unforgettable in the way he touched the lives around him. We will miss Doug dearly. We will carry his lessons forward. Thank you, Doug, for everything. Your legacy lives on in all of us.
I love Dougie (as he let me call him). He was always there to listen, encourage and have a good laugh. Doug was great at telling stories and making people feel part of the group. He reached out to me 2 years ago to bring me into the AHL family and I am so glad that he did. I will miss him dearly. Love you Dougie! - Regina Richardson
