records of creation in the first three chapters of Genesis are lies. This is the way she puts it: T his latter part of the second chapter of Genesis, wherein spirit is supposed to co-oper ate with matter, in con structing man, must be based on some hypothesis of error” (S & H, p. 503, 74th Ed.). A typical Christian Science con ception is this: “We have not as much authority for considering God masculine, as we have for considering Him feminine” (S & H, p. 517, line 7). For once she is right. The god of Christian Science is not a he, nor a she; it is an it, and it does not exist except in the minds of Mrs. Eddy’s deluded followers. And what sense is there to a state ment like this: “ Father-Mother God is the name for Deity” (S & H, p. 332). The Word of God tells us: “Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father [not Mother] (Rom. 8:15); and Jesus said, “When ye pray, say, Our Father.” Christian Science denies the Trin ity. “ The theory of three persons in one God (that is, a personal Trinity or Tri-unity) suggests heathen gods” (S & H, p. 152, 74th Ed.). This was later amended to “ polytheism.” Polytheism is nothing less than heathenism, so according to her, the entire Christian world is pagan, idol- worshippers. We refer to only one verse among hundreds to show the Bible teaching of a Trinity, Three Persons in one God: “And I [Jesus] will pray the Father, and he [the Father] shall give you another Com forter [the Holy Spirit] that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14: 16). Throughout the Scriptures we are taught to pray, but Mrs. Eddy for bids this: “ Prayer to a personal God is a hindrance” (S & H, p. 635, 74th Ed.). And again the principle idea: “Who would stand before a blackboard, and pray the principle of mathematics to work out the problem? . . , Shall we ask the divine Principle of all good ness to do His own work?” (S & H, p. 308, 74th Ed.). I repeat, the God of Christian Sci ence is not the God of the Bible. The god of Christian Science does not ex ist anywhere in the universe. In plain words, they have no God at all—just an imaginary thing. Of the God of the Bible Jesus Christ said, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). END.
