earthly father could not buy our food unless God first provided it. Soane children rightly thank their parents for all the things that are done for them, but in addition to this they should thank the heavenly Fath- I er for all that they receive from Him. “ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). LESSON: All four of these alarm clocks are ringing at the same time, but only one is right. This big one is making a great deal of noise, but it is not telling the truth. It says that it is four o’clock, and instead it is ten. This clock reminds me of those who thought Christ was John the Baptist. They made a loud noise in expressing their opinion of Him, but their opinion was wrong. The second clock is like those peo­ ple who said that Christ was Elias. Instead of giving the correct time, this clock says that it is six o’clock. The fact that these people thought Christ was a great prophet returned from heaven to earth did not excuse them for not knowing who He was. They were like this third alarm clock, which says in a j loud voice that it is eight o’clock. Christ asked those who knew Him I best and loved Him most: “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” When told what men thought, he asked his disciples what they thought. He said, “ But whom say ye that I am?” Peter said: “ Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” This was the correct answer. The fourth clock says that it is ten o’clock, which is correct. It did not make more noise than the others, but every tin­ kle of the bell was telling the truth. We are living in days when people are saying many things about Christ. Some are saying that He was a great teacher, but He was more than a teacher. Some are saying that He was CONTINUED ►
