COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
Red Door Family Shelter We launched a Food & Essentials Drive in support of the Red Door Family Shelter. The shelter plays a vital role in helping families, women, and children in crisis, supporting over 200 families each year through its programs. Between 2022 and 2023 alone, it provided refuge to 135 families, including 278 children and 171 adults. This year, we collected non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and pantry staples to support their food bank and help meet the community’s most immediate needs. Sanctuary Our team raised funds to support Sanctuary, a frontline Toronto charity helping people facing homelessness, food insecurity, and the growing opioid crisis. As housing costs rise and essential services shrink, Sanctuary fills critical gaps through drop-ins, warm meals, and compassionate street outreach that provide stability and safety. With over $40,000 raised to strengthen their programs and sustain essential resources, we’re proud to contribute to their vital work. Members of our team also visited Sanctuary to meet the community. Covenant House Earlier this year, our team participated in Covenant House Toronto’s annual Sleep Out, an immersive experience that allows you to explore the causes of youth homelessness, connect with youth at Covenant House, and learn about how the fundraising is supporting tangible solutions. In addition to raising awareness through the Sleep Out, the team also raised funds to help Covenant House provide 24/7 shelter, sanctuary, and support for unhoused youth and survivors of human trafficking. Thanks to their efforts, we raised $144,974, making RPIA the top fundraising team!
