For the Children T elling O thers A bout J esus A cts 13:1-5, 44-49 MEMORY VERSE: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15). Paul, the splendid young man who met the Lord Jesus Christ upon the road to Damascus, started at once to tell others about his Saviour. While he was busy preaching near his home, a strange thing happened. In a church in the city of Antioch, there were some teachers who were serving the Lord. While they were praying, the Holy Spirit said unto them “Separate me Barnabas and Saul [Paul] for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2). The Christians prayed for these two men and sent them away to tell others about the Lord Jesus. Together Paul and Barnabas visited the synagogues in various towns and told men and women about their Saviour. Sometimes they had to take a sailboat to reach the towns that they wanted to visit. One Sabbath day almost all of the people who lived in Antioch met to gether to hear the Word of God. When the Jews saw the crowd, they were jealous, and contradicted the things which Paul had said in his sermon. Paul and Barnabas told them that since they had refused to receive the message of salvation, the disciples would preach to the Gentiles instead. Gentiles were all the people who were not Jews. When the Gentiles heard that they too could receive, the Lord Jesus as Saviour, they were happy, and many of them became Christians. Before the Lord Jesus returned to Heaven, He said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15). He is asking you to tell others in your home, in your school, and in your neighborhood about Him. If you are faithful in talking about your Lord now, He will be able to trust you with greater service for Him later. As you serve Him in your small sphere now, you may still “go” all over the world by giving your money to Him, and by praying for those who are working for Him in other lands.

A high school graduate of Sasebo wrote four Words in a small, black notebook, which express the desire of the Japanese young people. They should present a challenge to every Christian young person in the United States. Here they are—the voice of the youth of Japan— “WE WAIT AMERICAN TEACHER.” God grant we may not fail Him in failing to enter the open door of Japan!
