BUILDING CONNECTIONS

2024/25 NAPA VALLEY VINE TRAIL COALITION IMPACT REPORT MILES THAT MATTER FOR A TRAIL THAT UNITES

LETTER FROM THE EXECTUIVE DIRECTOR

Together with our local governments and valued community supporters, the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition accomplished major milestones during our fiscal year. Since the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition’s inception, the vision and mission of the organization have been to make our community safer, greener, and healthier. With 33 miles of Vine Trail® now connecting our cities and towns, we can confidently say we are fulfilling our mission and promise. But when I think about impact, I think about more than milestones, more than check boxes, more than a list of benefits. Section by section, the Vine Trail is shaping the lives of people in our community for the better. In my role as Executive Director of the NVVTC, I’m privileged to hear repeatedly how locals and visitors alike experience the Vine Trail. I see their smiles when they explore Napa Valley’s beauty at terroir level and sense of relief when they aren’t competing with traffic. The impact of the Vine Trail isn’t theoretical. It is felt by every person who uses the Vine Trail to get to work, school, errands, or puts on a pair of running shoes or grabs their bicycle to get outside for exercise.

Shawn Casey-White Executive Director Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition

RATHER THAN HEAR FROM ME, WE WANT TO SHARE SOME OF THE SENTIMENTS WE HEAR EVERY DAY.

“The Vine Trail is an incredible addition to our community. It is something special, it is something everyone can access, and it offers a non-carbon way to travel around Napa Valley!” — BETH NOVAK, VINTNER “The Vine Trail is where I trained for my first marathon. The reason I run is because I have this place.” — ALICIA R., NAPA RESIDENT “I love seeing families with small kids riding together, older people walking or even being pushed in wheelchairs, teens having a fun place to run and ride with friends.” — YOUNTVILLE RESIDENT “If it weren’t for the Vine Trail, I’d be stuck in my apartment all day. With my disabili- ty, I can ride my trike and jump on the trail right out my front door.” — GREG S., CALISTOGA RESIDENT “I enjoy the Vine Trail with my wife and 4 and 2-year-old on the weekend when we visit.” — SAN FRANCISCO RESIDENT

“The Vine Trail extension to the Vallejo Ferry gives me a safe way to ride my bike on my commute safely.” — AMERICAN CANYON RESIDENT “Absolutely amazing work that you are doing to support a greener and healthier tomorrow.” — DIANA, TRAVELING NURSE “The Vine Trail gets our family outside and active.” “We see it in the smiles on the Vine Trail every day. That’s what fuels our goal to complete the last 14 miles in the 47-mile vision.” — TIM DUNCAN, VINTNER — HAYDEN, NAPA RESIDENT

NAPA VALLEY VINE TRAIL COALITION

VISION

PURPOSE

MISSION

Build a pedestrian/biking trail system to connect the entire Napa Valley— physically, artistically, and culturally.

Working to design, fund, construct, and maintain 47 safe and scenic miles of level, paved, family-friendly, pet-friendly, free-access Class 1 trail, stretching from the Vallejo Ferry to Calistoga.

Enhancing the Napa Valley by building and maintaining a safer, more sustainable, accessible bike and pedestrian path that connects our communities.

WHAT THE COALITION DOES

The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition (NVVTC) is a community of trailblazers—individuals, public agencies and private organizations—sharing their time, money and expertise to develop the Vine Trail. Community supported, the NVVTC is led by 28 community organizations and 35 volunteer leaders. Together, we BUILD, MAINTAIN, and MAXIMIZE the Napa Valley Vine Trail.

The Coalition performs 4 major functions:

1 2 3 4

Stewards community philanthropy for building funds and maintenance funds.

Co-writes federal and state construction and transportation grants for the County.

Optimizes landowner engagement and facilitates communication between agencies.

Accelerates pre-engineering to support local jurisdiction readiness to complete the 47-mile vision.
