Stalis Winter Leadership Dinner: Event Summary & Key Takeaways
Thank you to our friends, partners and customers who recently joined us for an evening of open discussion, challenge, and shared learning. This session brought together leaders from across health, policy, digital and analytics to reflect on one central question: How do we improve the quality, governance, and use of data across our health systems? At our leadership dinner, we aligned on three priorities: improving data quality, raising organisational standards, and creating environments that support honest, cross-system learning. This forms the foundation of an expanded thought leadership programme we’ll be rolling out in 2026.
Below is a summary of the themes and commitments that emerged from the conversation.
Data Quality Is Fundamental to Healthcare - Now More Than Ever!
A strong consensus emerged early in the discussion: Data in its purest, cleanest form is as essential to healthcare as electricity is to surgery.
Without well-structured, accurate, protected data:
Patient outcomes suffer Operational inefficiencies increase System-wide transformation stalls AI and advanced analytics become unsafe and unreliable
The message was clear: we cannot innovate on unstable foundations.
A Shared Challenge: Raise the Standard
Attendees collectively agreed that improving data practices cannot fall to one organisation or one team. It requires a system-wide uplift in behaviours, governance, and expectations. We closed the session with a joint challenge to each other:
Take this conversation back into our organisations - and raise our game. Improve data quality, champion good governance, and drive cultural change.
This shared ownership is what will move the system forward.
The Environment Matters: Learning & Collaboration
The semi-public setting was an intentional choice. It allowed for:
Energy and spontaneity Cross-table discussion and natural debate A break from formal, closed-door meeting environments
Many attendees noted that the openness of the room enabled more honest and challenging dialogue - something Stalis aims to preserve across our events. We welcome feedback on this format for future events.
Connectivity Beyond The Event
The value of the evening extends beyond the conversation itself. Stalis is proud to partner with Arlo Marketing and Global Counsel, and we are happy to connect attendees with one another for follow-up conversations or collaboration. If you would like an introduction to someone in the room, please contact David Sharp or any member of the Stalis team.
Acknowledging Standout Contributions
While light-hearted, our “unofficial awards” reflected the spirit of productive challenge:
🏆 Most Thought-Provoking Contribution: Margaret McNab 🔥 Most Passionate Contribution: Dame Barbara Hakin 💬 Strongest Argument: Martin Callingham
Your contributions helped shape the direction of the discussion and advance the collective thinking.
External Summary
A resounding reflection on the evening was shared on LinkedIn by one of our attendees. This provides an excellent narrative recap and is available for those who want to revisit the themes in more depth.
