Books bonanza! Dressed up

LOVING READING A fantastic effort by children and staff to dress-up and celebrate their favourite characters from books. Matildas galore, princesses, Potters, Dragons and staff having a go too. The World Book day website has a fantastic range of ideas and resources to inspire children to read. One great aspect for the rest of the month is a selection of full story audio podcasts. Great for in the car or additional bedtime reading. https://www.worldbookday.com/world-of-stories/ CRESWELL We had to arrive at school even earlier than usual. We got on the minibus and were feeling extremely excited. The journey felt like it lasted 5 hours, but we were there in no time. When we got there, we split into 2 groups - Wooly Rhinos and Wooly Mammoths. The Wooly Rhinos started by searching through the cave. Charlie and Alfie had to check the cave before the rest of the children and adults entered. The adults were known to be more important because of their knowledge. The cave was dark and mysterious. We had to bend down so we didn’t hit our heads. The Wooly Mammoths entered the museum and saw the jaws of different animals. They then went to make a skeleton of a cave lion, a wolf and a hyena. There were so many pieces to put together. When we put the skeleton together, it was fascinating to see how many bones are in an animals body. Before we got back on the minibus, we got to spend our money in the shop. I liked looking around at all of the gifts. There was so much to choose from. Creswell crags was the most amazing trip I’ve been on in Year 3.
