LUNT

At 8:30 we set off to Lunt. We were all really excited. After an hour we arrived! It was huge! We began walking to the gates and just then two Roman soldiers appeared - Ruthus and Magnus. We gave them the password ‘tomacula’ (Latin for sausages) and walked in. First they taught us how to walk like a Roman. Secondly, we learnt about buildings and some Roman history. Some new facts include how 8 Ronan soldiers would have shared a sponge on a stick to wipe their bottoms! After that we learnt about Roman weapons and armour. Magnus was the star of the show! Acting like a Roman boy, he set to try and join the Roman army. He got to try on all of the armour and a short sword for stabbing enemies. Later on we had lunch and went to the gift shop. Soon after, we went to begin our training as Roman soldiers. It was great and we got to try swords and shields. An hour later we played a game of Celts v Romans and then we went home. A tremendous day out! Thanks to Zek & Keysha in 4P for the story.
