(Google Translate Greek:English - Amazing)

During the 26th, 27th and 28th of June, the three classes in Year 3 enjoyed a ‘Greek Day’ in school. They had a very busy morning, making lots of Greek dishes. They had fun making Greek salad, dicing and slicing lots of vegetables including tomatoes, cucumber, olives and red onions. They also made yummy tsatziki, mixing delicious Greek yoghurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice and mint. The moussaka took some time to prepare; there was a lot of chopping vegetables! Aubergines and potatoes were added then topped with a feta cheese sauce. We invited our Parents and Carers in for the afternoon, to look at the some of the work the children have been doing this term. The children dressed up in amazing Ancient Greek outfits and they then performed some great songs: ’Have you heard the Story?’, ‘The Olympians’, and ‘It’s all Greek to me’. Then we invited the parents and carers to sit back, relax and enjoy as the children served them the Greek food that they had been cooking. Everyone appeared to really enjoy the food! It was all so tasty and worth all of the hard work. At the end of the afternoon, there were many empty plates and luckily none were smashed! Thank you for your feedback and your brilliant support with the costumes. ‘Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon. We really enjoyed it and the children have clearly enjoyed all the learning about the Ancient Greeks!’ ‘So impressed with all the hard work. The feast was delicious, the decorations and artwork are amazing. Hari has got so much out of this topic. Thanks!’
