Gensler’s Morristown of- fice. “We see our space as a laboratory for testing ideas.” Home to almost 100 em- ployees , Gensler ’ s new space provides flexibility and choice in how and where people work. Incorporat- ing features like sit/stand desks, plug-and-play focus rooms and a variety of open and glass enclosed spaces, alongside a mostly open layout, the workplace is designed to heighten innova- tion. “It’s plain and simple,” states Brenda Nyce-Tay- lor , co-managing director of Gensler’s Morristown

office. “High performing workplaces are directly tied to innovation.” As visitors arrive, a cus- tom hydraulic garage-style door provides a 20’-wide un- obstructed entrance into the bustling office. While both functionally efficient and en- vironmentally responsible, the design aesthetic and ma- terial details including black steel framing, reclaimed wood, concrete and brick tie back to the industrial revo- lution. Branded elements reinforce Gensler’s culture while paying homage to New Jersey’s inventive history. “Even as we set out to change the world through design, we believe we can help contribute to a stron- ger community here in New Jersey,” said Nyce-Taylor. “This redesign will allow us to work more closely with partners and industry or- ganizations while inviting them behind the scences into our design process.” The 11-year lease gives Gensler the 4th floor of 10 North Park Place, a 5-story building that sits opposite the Morristown Green be- tween Washington St. and Speedwell St. The recommitment to the town’s thriving community keeps the firm in close prox- imity to a large percentage of its client base whose recent designs include Honeywell’s Headquarters, Novartis, Bristol Myers-Squibb and Bayer HealthCare’s East Coast US Headquarters. “Gensler resigning their lease in Morristown is the latest example of global com- panies that are committed to our community,” said Mayor Timothy Dougherty. “As the largest architectural firm in New Jersey, Gensler works in virtually every industry, delivering projects at every scale. We are delighted to have this creative, world-class firm reaffirm its allegiance to our town— they are here because they love Morris- town.” “We understand the vital connection between real estate assets and business performance,” states Brock- meier. “By making strategic improvements to our work- place setting, we believe it will inspire even more im- pactful design solutions for our clients.” n
