Pixelle Acquires Two Paper Mills From Verso

Pixelle Specialty Solutions has completed the acqui- sition of two specialty paper mills from Verso Corpo- ration, reportedly becoming one of the largest paper producers in North America, manufacturing currently over one million tons annually. The company specializes in multiple paper grades including release papers, thermal labels, food and bev- erage labels, food packaging papers, inkjet papers,cast- ing liners, book papers, carbonless and forms, security papers, envelope and converting papers, and various niche products. Pixelle now operates a four-mill specialty paper sys- tem: Jay, Maine; Chillicothe, Ohio; Spring Grove, Penn- sylvania; and Stevens Point,Wisconsin.Three have on- site pulp mills. Collectively the mills deploy 12 paper machines and produce more than one million tons of paper annually. In addition, Pixelle operates a convert- ing facility in Fremont, Ohio and strategically located wood sourcing operations committed to sustainable forestry throughout its operating regions. Resource Label Acquires Axiom Label & Packaging Resource Label Group, a full-service provider of pressure sensitive label, shrink sleeve and RFID/NFC technology for the label and packaging industry, has acquired Los Angeles, California-based Axiom Label & Packaging. Axiom represents the company’s sixth acquisition in California. Resource Label is a portfolio company of First Atlantic Capital, a New York-based private invest- ment firm, and TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity investment platform of TPG. Located in Compton, California, Axiom is a supplier of label and packaging products to California business- es and national brands.Axiom offers pressure sensitive, shrink sleeve, extended content and flexible packag- ing solutions that serve customers across a broad spec- trum of industries, including food, beverage, nutraceu- tical, personal care and health and beauty.
