Police Explorers in suspense

HAWKESBURY | The Hawkesbury Police Explorers youth group has been suspend- ed because of concerns about possible li- ability exposure. Established in 1997 with the help of the town police force, the organization has op- erated under the auspices of the Ontario Provincial Police detachment since it ab- sorbed the municipal constabulary in 1999. However, last year the detachment sev- ered ties with the program when it learned the group was not covered by liability in- surance. “My concern was with the safety of the members,” said detachment command- er Inspector Bryan Mackillop.

La reine est une fière représentante des élèves de 6e année, tout comme le roi, qui représente les élèves de 2e année. Les écoliers ont eu droit à toute une semaine d’activités dans le cadre du carnaval 2014.
Un souper bénéfice sera organisé, le vendredi 28 mars, pour la famille Maclean de Grenville, dont la maison a été détruite dans un incendie. L’événement organisé par l’Église Unie Knox-Wesley de Grenville se tiendra au Centre communautaire de Grenville, de 17h à 19h. Les convives auront droit à un souper spaghetti et à un dessert maison.
