Even though the leprechauns already ran wild last Monday on St. Patrick Day, beer and camaraderie is in store this weekend inVankleek Hill for the 10th annual Pond Rocket Hockey Cup. The tournament has a legacy of fun and hard-hitting actions with beer leaguers, hungry junior and household names within the ranks. Like last year, the tournament has two divisions, open and recreational. “We have 16 teams registered, 12 in the open division and four for recreational”, said Cup organizer Derek Duval. “Also, profit of the gate and proceeds of the 50/50 drawwill go to theVankleek Hill outdoor rink project.” The first game of the cup tournament will be played today at 5 p.m. and fans can also catch great hockey action on Saturday.
