WINTER/S BITTER Ilf KOREA Thousands of Orphans are Homeless and Hungry Will You Sponsor One or More For Only Pennies A Day?

personal evangelism by Benjamin Weiss W hat is stopping him? He comes right up to the place of decision and then he seems to back away. Haven’t you made the way clear to him? What is causing him to hesitate? It is so clear and appealing to you. Can it be that the decision is too big for him? Yes, he may be seeing only the negative side of the transaction. The negative side is important, but there is also a positive side. Let’s take a look at the other side, the positive side. What has Christ done for you? Think back about the old life before you came to Christ for forgiveness of sin and a new life in Him. Your life was disturbed and troubled, wasn’t it. You often thought about your deeds and your ways. Some of them were already catching up with you. You were also disturbed about the thought that this present life might end rather abruptly, weren’t you? The thought about appearing before the judgment in your sinful state didn’t comfort you either, did it? But in that hour when you received Christ as your Saviour a great peace came to you. It was as if a great burden, were lifted. It was almost indescrib able. Did you tell him about that? Did you tell him as though the real ity of that great peace was still with you. He wouldn’t know unless you told him. These are only a few of the positive things of the Christian life. There is the friendship with other Christians, the sweet pleasure of being on speak ing terms with God. There are also the blessings of a Christian home. What may have been stopping him was the “give-ups” and the “can’ts” he had heard about. He may also have been thinking about the situations he would meet as the consequence of a life of sin. Did you tell him that the Lord would intervene in these situa tions and that He helps Christians to meet difficulties and temptations vic toriously? He did it for you, didn’t He? That may turn the knob on the door outside of which he is standing. The Christian life is a wonderful way of living, isn’t it? There just isn’t any other life like it. Yes, it is a big step to take. But you did it, and you are constantly thanking God for it. That is what he needs to know. Tell him. Tell him gladly. Tell him with all the zest and sincerity you can. He, too, will want it, if you tell him that way.

Select Your Orphan From The Pictures Above And Bring Your Child Comfort, Joy And A Sense O f Being Wanted You will reap a blessing from your action. For only $8 a month —just 26 pennies a day—you can care completely for a boy or girl, including school tuition which is not free in Korea. Why not ask a friend to be a co-sponsor with you — only $4 each monthly? The darling little girl designated H-l is Jo Min Ja, which means “a smart child.” She was a foundling and was picked up by the police who cared for her until she was received by us. Like all the other orphans pictured, she is longing for a loving foster “Mommie and Daddy” — individuals or your Sunday School, Bible Class, Youth Group, Ladies Society, etc.

Rescue Orphans from Rags and Starvation You can make it possible for homeless, unloved youngsters to know Christian love and care, shelter, food, clothing and education. A boy in one of our 71 Chris tian orphanages was a homeless beggar on the streets. Now he has a Christian home and is coming to know Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Who knows but that he may grow up to be, under loving sponsorship, a Christian leader in Korea? Hundreds of new sponsors are needed so that we can care for many more and bring them also saving knowledge of Christ.
