“While the fire warms my home, the ‘Morning Chapel Hour’ warms my heart.” Such frequent encouraging comments from around the world daily reach the Huntington Park offices of this radio organization. The broadcasts, now in their 17th year, are heard over stations in select ed areas of the nation, as well as in Panama and Alaska. The ministry was founded and is directed by friendly and talented Rev. Wilbur Nelson. Regular listeners have their favorite program identified as he sings the opening theme, “It is morn ing” and extends the cordial greeting, “Hello out there!” Music is a vital part of the broad casts of the “MCH.” Unlike many programs today, which use recorded music, the ensemble, composed of eight gifted singers, is broadcast “live.” Nelson’s wife Ethyl accom panies the group at the huge studio pipe organ, while Miss Doris Thomp son plays the piano.
