My ministry was Open Air Evangelism. To me Open Air is a dynamic ministry because of its effectiveness. I learned that God used me and will use anybody who is willing to go and share the Gospel. I saw people’s lives saved and people’s lives changed right on the street and it opened my eyes to a great need for every Christian to make personal evangelism a way of life. Rosalie D’Amico
I had the opportunity and privilege to be one of the many students who were involved in the Open Air ministry. It’s an experience I believe I will never forget. I hope and pray others were ministered to by my work on the streets, but even when at times, no one responded, I was ministered to. The Lord gave me boldness as I was brought closer to Christ. My faith was increased as I saw God work and others trust Him. I pray I will always remember New York, the people, the boldness, the nearness, and the faith. Larry Zuiderveen
“Go ye into New York City - Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Time Square, subways, 5th ave. and 42nd Sts with your sketchboard, paints, and rope tricks and be my witnesses, proclaiming the gospel to business men and women on their lunch hour, boys and girls after school, the down and out sleeping in the sub ways, and all who pass your way.” This open-air commission led me to stand on a plant er on 5th Ave and gaze with mouth open as thou sands of people passed by. Some too busy to look sideways, some taking tracts, some drawn by the crowd to the sidewalk meeting, some listening and rejecting the gospel, and some realizing their need for a Savior and being counselled and assured of their decision and follow-up. We rejoiced with those in heaven and didn’t want to leave after ten days as we had become aware of the great need that was in this large city. I counted it a real privilege that the Lord could use me as a part of a team of 25 students to shine forth the light of His truth. Jackie Barling P.S. It took an Austrailian to get this work going!!
