PERFORMERS: Acemaker Aviation (Greg Colyer)
Gregory “Wired” Colyer, a lifelong Californian aviator, began his flying journey at age 7. He earned his pilot’s license in 1982 while serving in the U.S. Army and has been passionate about aviation ever since. After leaving the service, he worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA for 27 years, but his love of flying never waned. Colyer’s passion for jets, especially the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, led him to acquire his own T-33, the “Ace Maker,” in 2008. He expanded his fleet to include “Ace Maker II” and “Ace Maker III” in subsequent years. This launched his airshow career, displaying his mastery of jet aircraft. With over 6000 flight hours, including
2500 in the T-33, Colyer holds an ATP certificate and numerous type ratings. He’s also an aerobatic
competency holder and instructs at prestigious flight schools. Besides flying, Greg enjoys cycling and motorcycles. He expresses gratitude to Concord Batteries, Strong Parachutes, and Whelen Lighting for their support.
