In this Bicentennial year when we celebrate the birth of our nation we are reminded over and over again that America has drifted a long way from the basic principles upon which our nation was founded. Today there are many people who would even like to deny that America ever was founded as a Chris tian nation.

From the Pilgrims who drew up the Mayflower Com pact, to George Washington, the father of our country, to the founding fathers who drew up our Constitution, history proves that this nation was led by men and women who not only had a profound faith in God but were unashamed to bow before Him and ask for His guidance and wisdom.

There were many things that helped make America great. In ad dition to God-fearing leaders, there were strong preachers who not only believed and shared the Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ but also be lieved and taught the Bible to be the Word of God. Today we have a lot of sick churches with sick preachers who cannot help a sick nation. When ever the pulpits are weak, the nation is weak. Throughout history, when ever the prophets of God firmly thun dered out "Thus saith the Lord, " the nations were strong.

The Bible and prayer were also a regular part of the programming of our schools. Prac tically all of our first colleges and universities were founded and staffed by God-fearing, Bible-loving people. Today, we have allowed prayer and the Bible to be removed from our schools and our schools reflect Americafs decline.

In contrast to this downward trend away from God there are many encouraging signs on the horizon. We still have Bible Institutes, Christian colleges and seminaries which stand out like Daniel of old and are turning out men and women with the potential, in the strength of God, to turn this trend upward and save our people. I firmly believe God will honor His promise, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" II Chronicles 7: 14. At Word of Life Bible Institute we believe in God, the Bible and salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. There was never a day when a sick and dying world had a greater need for what you graduates have to offer. It is our prayer that you will go forth with the same spirit as the founding fathers of our nation, and that your lives will be used of God to reach the lost for Christ and bring God-fearing leadership to itt rightful place.

About A Family The whole WOLBI family may not be in these pictures, but we're here by imputation because we all love the Lord! He is the Head but He has en trusted us in 176 to the TLC of our beloved Academic Dean and Theology Professor. We know how they both have longed to "impart unto (us) some spir itual gift to the end (we) may be es tablished. "To our teachers and brothers in the faith—thank you. There IS some thing about the family of Christ.

Four billion people covering the earth with just as many problems--if we could just reach some of them . . . With this objective we sat through 29 hours of classes, squeezed into a 5 day Counseling Seminar. Elmer Taylor introduced us to counseling as a science. Then we found that, as Dr. Master said, all problems come from sin that must be personally dealt with before God. Tom Maharis gave us insight into counseling youth to Christ and through slides Bill Shade showed us how people are trying to escape through the occult, abortion, and drugs. Jim Rich said we'd have opportunities to counsel many like these and introduce them to our Counselor--Jesus Christ. " . . . and His name shall be called Wonderful, COUNSELOR, The Mighty God . . . "
