About WCN Wisconsin Christian News represents a cooper- ative effort by active Christians from all walks of life. In our pages and on our website, you will find Infor- mation, Education and Inspiration, with a majority of the articles written by members of our “WCN Fam- ily” of contributors. There is something of interest to every member of the family. We hope you are blessed and become a regular reader. WCN seeks, at all times, to publish the TRUTH, regardless of “political correctness,” standing up for America’s historical Christian heritage and urging a return to biblical, moral standards. We offer very thought-provoking commentary, inspired teach- ing, real life testimonies, world, national, state and regional news, plus advice and information from experts in their areas of business and ministry -- all in the various sections of our 48-page newspa- per. In addition to providing valuable content to the Christian community, we focus equally on reach- ing those who are lost and seeking, and those who may have been alienated from church as an institution in the past. You’ll find WCN on the racks in the lobbies of grocery stores, family restaurants, shopping centers and malls and most Christian book stores. Of course, you can also find a copy at many of our “Ministry Partner” advertisers’ business and ministry locations. This is our outreach to the mar- ketplace, and we receive many wonderful testi- monies from people who have found the Lord for the first time, or returned to Him, after many years away, after finding our newspaper in a public place. Our Doctrinal Statement • There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. • Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was
• The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all na- tions. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. • There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment. • The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible, and pre-mil- lennial. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. He died, was buried and arose from the dead ac- cording to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of right- eousness and peace. • The Holy Spirit is sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. • The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as origi- nally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. • Man was originally created in the image and like- ness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring, thereby, both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the love of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. • Salvation has been made available through Jesus Christ for all men; those who repent and be- lieve in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God. • It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. • Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mor- tal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the church in the present age.

Americans Are Disappearing
By Rob Pue February 2026
estimate that half are born to unwed parents or to single mothers, with no father listed. I remember when I was a kid in the 1970s, people were saying they never wanted to have kids. They didn’t want to bring children into a world that was so messed up, so wicked and evil. And it was in 1970 that Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” was first pub- lished, causing even Christian couples to either delay having children or not have any children at all, as they be- lieved the rapture was imminent. That was 1970. Those children that were never born would have lived full lives by now, had children of their own and their parents would be proud grandparents. But for so many, it never happened. Fear of the present and fear of the future stopped them from having kids. Of course, in 1973, abortion became “women’s healthcare” with the passage of Roe v Wade and since then, more than 60 million babies were conceived but mercilessly murdered in the womb. It was also about this time that “birth control” became popular in America. Women chose careers over children. Men chose lust over love and fornica- tion over family. This was also about the time the lies of the Environmental- ist cults began, as we were told the Earth had too many humans and we needed to depopulate. They’re still try- ing to depopulate the Earth of God’s image-bearers today. Continued on Page 7
In the very first chapter of the Bible, God blessed the first man and woman and told them to “Be fruitful and multi- ply and fill the earth.” In Genesis 9, after the flood, God spoke to Noah and his sons, saying: “Be fruitful, and multi- ply, and replenish the earth.” Later in Genesis, we read about how Abraham and Sarah laughed at the idea of bear- ing children in their old age. But God took Abraham aside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, ‘So shall thy seed be.’” Abraham and Sarah would bear a son and their descendants would be as nu- merous as the stars of heaven. And in Genesis 28, God spoke to Jacob: “And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the fami- lies of the earth be blessed.” In Psalm 127, we have this: “...chil- dren are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As ar- rows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of thy youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them.” And in Proverbs 17, “Grandchil- dren are the crown of the aged.” The Gospels tell the story of how Jesus loved children. Jesus even used children as a model for adult behavior, telling the people that unless they would humble themselves and become like little children, they would never

some of the stories in our local news. For many years now, I’ve been paying special attention to the obituaries and the birth announcements. What I’ve noticed is that obituaries are published just about every single day. Our older generation is quickly passing away. There are also a lot of people who are dying too young. We even have obitu- aries on a regular basis for people in their teens, 20s and 30s now. But while obituaries run daily, and there are usually a dozen or so listed each day, birth announcements only come up occasionally — maybe two or three times a month — and then there are only one or two (and on rare occa- sions) three babies that have been born. Of all the new babies born, I’d
All throughout Scripture, children are shown to be a blessing, not a burden. In the Bible, children are highly valued, they’re to be protected, taught and trained up to know and honor the Lord, and the Scriptures show how children are honored as examples of true faith. Children are blessings, gifts from God, knit together in their mother’s wombs by God Himself and grandchildren are the “icing on the cake” for us old folks. I read a lot of news articles, as you can imagine. My news feed never stops, and I get my news and informa- tion from many different sources.

AI: For Good or For Evil?
By Jim Schneider, Executive Director, VCY America February 2026
provide the student a high grade.
Tampering with the weather and atmosphere is also on the hearts of the implementers of AI. Recently Elon Musk wrote on X, “A large solar- powered AI satellite constellation would be able to prevent global warming by making tiny adjustments in how much solar energy reached Earth.” Keep in mind that Elon already has thousands of satellites in orbit. As believers in Jesus Christ, we must be ever vigilant to the deception that is in the world. Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians warns of the serpent beguiling Eve, and he also warns of those preaching “another Jesus.” The ‘AI Jesus’ is not the Jesus of the Bible. This deception is intentional. Paul goes on to warn, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (II Corinthians 11:13,14). The push for these data centers will continue to rise in cities all across the country and house your every thought, your every inquiry, and your every conversation with AI. And when you combine this with the push toward a central bank digital cur- rency, it will be all about control. Keep in mind, Scriptures warn of a future one known as the beast or anti-Christ. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16,17). If you think this is carrying the matter too far, or that it’s just another conspiracy theory, consider what Sam Altman spoke 11 years ago in 2015. (Altman is the co-founder and CEO of OpenAI and ChatGPT.) He said, “I think AI will probably like, most likely sort of lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there will be great companies created with serious machine learning.” Christians must be discerning! It is only by knowing the truth that fraud can be detected. It is critical for believers in Christ to immerse themselves in the Scriptures, spend meaningful time with God in prayer and recog- nize Satan is at the root of deception. While the goal of AI is to take the place of God, may we fully realize, “That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:6) VCY.org
In the area of religion, this past Christmas there was promotion of an “AI Jesus.” The Christian Newswire reported that users could “see and speak verbally with ‘AI Jesus’ on video, in a conversation that feels like a calm video call.” This application also allowed the user to pray with
Many communities across the country are debating and contending the approval of data centers. These centers are directly affiliated with the infrastructure for
massive computer networks for the housing and computation of data. Such centers are critical for the support structure for artificial intelligence or just “AI” for short. Testimonies from the public in opposition to these centers have warned of the massive quantity of energy consumption each data center requires including large amounts of electricity and water. Other expressed concern relates to the land re- quired. Farm lands once used to grow our food now are the target for the establishment of many centers. As of early 2026, there are approximately 5400 data centers across the country with projections of nearly 3000 more that are either proposed or under construction.
AI has increased efficiency and productivity in many settings, and it has enabled the field of medicine to advance.
‘Jesus.’ Individuals could also text with ‘Jesus.’ Indeed, people are re- placing God with computers, screens and electronic messaging.
But while technology serves useful purposes, AI will also be used to a significant extent for evil. Even now, AI is being used to deceive individ- uals by altering images, voices and documents to place in the mind of the viewer an impression opposite of the truth. On January 20, 2026, The Christian Post reported, “Artificial intelligence-generated videos de- picting child sexual abuse surged by more than 26,000% in 2025, amid growing concern over Grok, an AI chatbot now under investigation for producing similar content.” Thousands of videos identified as “AI-gener- ated” have been created “for the most severe forms of abuse.” AI pornography is proliferating with little holding back the user from the creation and exploitation of images to fully engage in “the lust of the flesh” feasting on every imagination. Additionally, on January 20, LifeSiteNews.com reported that ChatGPT is being blamed in a lawsuit after a son killed his mother and then killed himself. A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in San Francisco. It is alleged that “the ChatGPT chatbot fueled her son’s paranoid delusions and contributed to her murder.” It is claimed this came about after “months of online conversation” with ChatGPT.
It’s also reported that a growing number of pastors are depending on AI for the preparation of their messages. Some such as Yuval Noah Harari who spoke recently at the World Economic Forum in late January indicating that books are just words and that AI is able to remember every word and become an authority over words, thus over the religious book (referenced to the Bible). Has the ministry of the Holy Spirit who was promised to guide us into all truth been replaced by AI? The Epoch Times reported last Fall, “According to the latest data, tens of millions of people around the world are confiding, confessing and shar- ing their deepest and darkest sins and longings to various online apps and chatbots-software programs set-up to solve problems, engage users, and, if necessary, soothe troubled souls.” Many do not realize that all of this information is being stored in these massive data centers. Sadly, there are more individuals who are putting their trust in AI believing only truth will come from this device rather than putting their trust in Jesus and His Word. Another impact of AI is being felt as many thousands of workers are being replaced by AI. It’s found humans are not needed. This is hap- pening on all levels, both white-collar and blue-collar jobs.
AI cheating is also taking place where students turn over their term paper inquiries, book reports, etc to AI to spit out documents ensured to

Perspectives Opinions • Commentary • Letters State of the Nation – State of the Church
By Pastor Matthew Trewhella February 2026 On January 4th, 2026, I preached my State of the Nation – State of the Church sermon. I ad- dressed two matters in detail – a company named Palantir and Islam. You need to listen to the ser- mon, as it is packed with
sermon about Kirk and TPUSA that it was Trump who brought Thiel to Mar-a-lago to cele- brate the first-ever federal legislation that recog- nized homosex marriage that Biden had signed? Follow the dots. Follow the money. Christians are stampeded into supporting TPUSA and the groups that affiliate with them — understand they all coalesce in order to en- rich each other. Some of us who are older have lived through all this before — with the Moral Majority, then with the Christian Coalition, now
retirement. The phrase refers to an ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song just before their death. You will NOT repair America by continuing to play the conservative/Christian playbook that has been followed for the last 50 years now. Repentance is needed. Fear of God must re- place the fear of man. Faithfulness to the Lord must trump following the machinations of worldly-wiseman regarding politics. Voting for
the lesser of two evils when the lesser evil is openly impugning the law or Word of God must cease. May we do right by Christ. To listen to the sermon State of the Nation – State of the Church 2026, go to: youtube.com/watch?v=Td3uor1da5o
documentation.
You can see where to listen at the end of this article.
Palantir is a CIA-funded and backed software and data base provider. They provide the tools for expanding govern- ment surveillance of its citizens through artificial intelligence and facial recognition technologies. In a word,
Matt Trewhella is pastor of Mercy Seat Christian Church ( MercySeat.net );
founder of Missionaries to the Preborn ( Missionar- iesToThePreborn.com ); and teacher of the lesser magistrate doctrine ( DefyTyrants.com ). the company is helping governments build the ultimate police state — the ultimate surveillance state of all a nation’s citizens. The technology is similar to what is used in China. Peter Theil is the founder of Palantir. Peter Thiel is an open sodomite, “married” to a man. He is in close relationship to J.D. Vance and Donald Trump. He gave Vance’s campaign for Senate 15 million dollars, and used his influence to see Vance get the Vice-presidency. He is the same Peter Theil that Charlie Kirk al- ways defended in order to normalize homosex to conservatives and Christians. [see my sermon TPUSA, Charlie Kirk, and Homosex: A Warning at youtube.com/watch?v=ttJGC-lIZv8]. Vance views Thiel as “possibly the smartest person” he ever met. Vance has also stated that Thiel’s Christian faith “defied the social template I had constructed.”
Like vultures, the other conservative and Christian organizations and groups are circling
the carcass of TPUSA. The vultures all come around to help the uptick on their mailing list and their bank accounts. Have nothing to do with it. Continue to be faithful to Christ. In sim- plistic service to Him. Most Christians — and most of Christianity think they have a four-year re- prieve because Trump was elected. They say it gives them four years to work to restore the nation. The truth is, the vast majority will never lift a finger to do anything other than send money to the pro-life and pro-family organizations — to the “conservatives” and “Christians” who are more than willing to take their money knowing all they do is nothing but a swan song which will not change any- thing substantive (but will fill their coffers with money). By the way, the “swan song” is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or

Sanctity of life The first duty of the law is to pre- vent the shedding of innocent blood. The sanctity and protection of innocent human life from fertil- ization to natural death is the highest priority. Education It is my conviction that the state of Wisconsin government should be phased out of the education system, elementary, secondary, universities and technical col- leges. Crime Only criminals that are a danger to society should be in prisons. All other crimes can be handled with restitution to society and to the victims. Wisconsin needs the death penalty as a deterrent. Gun ownership I support the right of the individual to own and bear unregistered arms. Taxes I believe Wisconsin should phase out property and income taxes. Voting Immediate elimination of elec-
tronic voting. Paper ballots in per- son only, except for the usual very restrictive exceptions. Exam- ple: military personnel overseas. Land ownership Federal lands returned to Wis- consin ownership. Then in the course of time, State lands handed over to the counties to best decide how to use their re- source. Size of government All Wisconsin government needs to be analyzed to see what changes need to be made. We wouldn’t need so much taxation if our Wisconsin government was smaller and more lean. By freeing the people of Wisconsin to be more prosperous and making our state safer and one of the clean- est. We would become a beacon of what a great state we are and even more so in the future. Welfare We should be handing out wel- fare benefits much lower than all our neighboring states. We do not want to be a magnet for peo- ple who are willing to move here
to get more aid. Able bodied men and women should be phased out of benefits. Minerals One way to help offset lower taxes is to pursue our mineral wealth. Wisconsin has been very effective at much hardship on those trying to tap into our abun- dant resources. Republicans/Democrats As an independent, I am not against the Republican and Dem- ocratic people. The leadership, however, has played “good cop, bad cop” long enough. Both par- ties are leading our state in the wrong direction. DNR The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources should be changed into a law enforcement agency only. No state parks or other state land. Contact Questions? Please email or mail us a letter. If you would like to do- nate to the campaign make checks out to “Wiedeman for Governor.” Thank you.
Thiel has given tens of millions to Vance and his Republican friends, including Trump. Thiel stands to make billions in government contracts from that investment. And Trump is all on board to expand and es- tablish the digital surveillance state. Since Trump became president for a second term he has written executive orders promoting Thiel’s objectives, and given Palantir massive federal contracts to develop the surveillance state in America. Are you beginning to connect the dots? Vance – Trump – and Kirk – and they’re all connected to this open sodomite, Peter Thiel. And it’s all connected to money. They defend and protect him — they fawn over him — remember in my

The Heart of Evangelism: BELIEVE in Jesus
By Roger Johnson February 2026
Note that Jesus’ summary of the Gospel is two- edged: people who believe in Jesus are promised eternal life, yet people who do not believe in Jesus are condemned. The Gospel is strong and de- mands a decision from all people: either believe in Jesus or deny Him. In Acts chapter 16, Paul and Silas are arrested for preaching the Gospel and locked in a Philip- pian jail cell. God sent an earthquake through the city that literally broke their chains. The jailor guarding them, was struck with fear of losing his job, and pled desperately to his unchained cap- tives, “What must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30).
We become people who pray for both our friends and our enemies. We respect Jesus’ claim upon our lives, listening to Him about how to spend our leisure time and invest our money and resources with which He has blessed us. We consult with Jesus on the critical decisions we must make for ourselves and our family’s future. We even ask Jesus who we should socialize with — comfortable friends or people who don’t yet know Jesus but present important mission opportunities?
Most of us are pretty good at stating what we believe: “I believe in the two-party system,” or “I believe in 8 hours sleep each night.” Fine to hold such convic- tions, and equally fine to order one’s life around such principles.
But when I tell someone that I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I
Our relationship with the Savior must continu- ally grow more intense. We must begin believing
am dealing in a bigger reality than any conviction that structures my life. Believing in Jesus is more dy- namic and far more life-changing than trusting in the circuit theory of electricity. Let’s start with what the Bible says about believing, and what that belief requires. In John 1:12, the Apostle John writes, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” To believe (translated from the Greek word “pisteo”) meant more than just knowing, and more than simply adhering to Jesus’ name and teachings. The New Tes- tament notion of believing incorpo- rates following, obeying, and even
in Jesus to do the improbable and the impossible. As our faith ma- tures, it grows hotter and deeper. Our belief will amaze our families, our friends, and even ourselves. Rather than believing in a static set of doctrines, believing in Jesus becomes an unpredictable set of action steps. Believing in Jesus means movement and action that we have never before thought of taking. Believing will always in- volve action, rather than filing our faith aside as a category of think- ing. Are you starting to catch hold of this new world of believing in Jesus? I certainly hope so! Without a strong force of believers, the church is stuck with weak and
swearing allegiance to Jesus. It connotes a deep and ongoing commitment to Jesus’ life, teachings, actions, sacrifice, resurrection and second com- ing. In John chapter 3, Jesus speaks directly with the Pharisee Nicodemus about what it takes to enter the kingdom of God. Here, Jesus brings be- lief to the forefront, telling Nicodemus in John 3:3 that he “must be born again.” Radical change is coupled with the call to believe. Listen to Jesus’ essential message as he drives to the heart of sal- vation in John 3:16-18: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever be- lieves in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
Both Paul and Silas replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.” (Acts 16:31). As these pioneer mis- sionaries spoke boldly to the jailor who held the keys to their own physical freedom, Paul pro- claimed spiritual freedom for him and everyone in his home. The truth of Jesus had set them all free, just as the Apostle John had famously pro- claimed: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32, NIV). While believing appears to come easily for Jesus’ apostles and New Testament missionaries, saving faith seems to have grown difficult for many mod- ern-day men and women. Today we hear stories of people who claim to have been saved at one point in life, only to doubt, question and even turn their back on Jesus at a later juncture. Are the intersections of knowledge, faith, temptation, self- expression and data overload tripping us up? Or do people just find it impossible to make commit- ments to spouses, families, nations, even their own God-given sexuality? Perhaps we have failed to understand God’s power when He lays claim to
motionless adherents — people who know what they should believe while doing very little about it. With a majority of actively-believing witnesses, Christ’s Church moves into mission, daily adding to its numbers of prepared soldiers. For the past 20 centuries, true believers have known that as a fire exists by burning, so the Church exists by mission. Belief grows as individuals commit themselves to following Jesus. Belief grows as people who have pledged their allegiance to Jesus actively an- chor their faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ our Savior. Belief grows as Christians raise the thermostat of their convictions and dis- play that new spiritual temperature through prayer, Bible reading, worship and witness to the Almighty King of Kings. Don’t be afraid of allowing your belief to look outrageously effective. Jesus our Lord has effectively saved each one of us. As Christians, we are to serve God and witness for Jesus in powerfully effective ways. Believing in Jesus is bigger, more dynamic, and more life-changing than trusting in the circuit theory of electricity. Believing in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection replaces your old view of history with a God-centered outlook of the future. And believing in Jesus’ promise of eternal life allows you to begin responding to God’s call to partici- pate with Jesus in building a new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Belief is not holding to some time-bound reli- gious creed. Belief is not a matter of standing still upon a set of human traditions. Belief is igniting a spark and building a fire that cannot be de- scribed by dead nouns and adjectives. Just as a fire starts from a live spark and burns into an in- ferno, so Jesus’ gospel starts from a life-giving ember and grows into a great and never-ending conflagration. It involves all of us. We believe in Jesus, we set out to testify of Him in mission, and we gather an eternal band of believers as a faith- filled congregation. Our faith is translated into ac- tion and our belief in Jesus keeps growing until He takes us to His eternal home. Roger Johnson is an evangelist, writer and teacher from Kenosha. our lives. We appear to prefer experimenting with our own spiritual adven- tures. Let’s try a fresh, new look at God’s intent for our believing. When Jesus knocks at our heart’s door, we cer- tainly do say “Yes.” We believe in Jesus’ life, res- urrection and power to re-create our own life. But rather than simply “signing up” to be a Christian, we take the big step to follow Jesus to- tally and allow Him to shape our life in the way He needs and wants. Rather than adhering to a set of Christian doctrines, we pledge our soul’s alle- giance to all that He would have us do. We be- come soldiers in His army, sold out to Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of our life.

And now, at least two gen- erations have passed since Americans have had any real knowledge or reverence for God or His Word. The world has continued to be a scary place, with the main- stream media not only thriv- ing on the “fear porn” and “rage bait” that now passes for “journalism,” but now they’re also working to cre- ate chaos and division, as they stoke the fires of ha- tred and Left wing “ac- tivism” that’s destroying our nation. So young people still have the excuse their grandpar- ents used in the ‘70s...they don’t want to bring children into such a hostile world. Abortion is still just as com- monplace as ever, even though anyone with eyes to see is now without excuse because we all know now that abortion has nothing to do with “healthcare,” and is all about murder-for-hire; a quick solution to an “incon- venience,” a “burden” peo- ple would rather not have to deal with. And while many Christian young people started ex- pecting the “rapture” in 1970, they’ve spent the whole of their lives waiting and watching and expect- ing, and now they’re old, with no children, no grand- children, no family. No one to carry on their legacy or family name. And still, new generations of Christians are choosing not to have children, because of course, the “rapture” is still immi- nent, and the world is still violent. If the truth be told, young people today are choosing to not get married anymore. The U.S. marriage rate has declined significantly — a 25% drop in just the past 25 years. Those that do get married are choosing not to have children. Instead, they have pets (dogs and cats) and consider them their “chil- dren.” Seriously. They do. As a result of all this, Americans are disappear- ing. Natural born American citizens have not replaced themselves since the early 1960s, when our fertility rate was around 3.5. By 1976, after the Baby Boom ended, the rate was 1.7 chil- dren per couple. The latest figures show less than 1.2.
These figures are for the population as a whole, but there’s a difference among conservative and liberal young people. The Institute for Family Studies recently released a report showing that conservative young adults between the ages of 25 and 35 have not only married but also embraced parenthood. But the study also showed that women who identify as “progres- sive” or Leftist, are not only significantly less likely to marry but also less likely to embrace any type of reli- gious faith. The study states, “This pattern mat- ters because these same women report markedly higher levels of unhappi- ness.” Men who remain single and childless also report markedly higher rates of unhappiness, isolation and loneliness. And the study also stated, “Declining birthrates are most pro- nounced among the Left and in blue states in partic- ular.” This unhappiness, loneliness, rejection of faith, marriage and family is partly what’s causing young people today to join the ranks of the Leftist rioters and agitators. They’re seek- ing purpose, fulfillment and social connection, so they become easy targets for those seeking to recruit them into becoming useful “pawns” as Left-wing “ac- tivists.” God’s Word tells us we should marry and then “be fruitful and multiply.” Scripture tells us children are a great blessing from God, not a burden and cer- tainly not a curse. A bless- ing . And the natural family — one biological man, mar- ried to one biological woman, who then bear chil- dren and raise them to know, love and honor the Lord in Godly homes — that’s the foundation of a peaceful, productive, fruitful and civil society. Take away the family and the nation crumbles. This is so basic, I should- n’t need to explain any fur- ther. But for those seeking a purely secular explanation, when a nation’s birth rate falls below the replacement rate (at minimum, 2.1 chil- dren per couple), the popu- lation inevitably shrinks and ages, and that sets off a chain reaction of social, eco- nomic and political effects.
mankind was perfect. He gave us His plan in His writ- ten Word. And once again, we’ve ignored it, and now, after more than 60 years, we can find a dozen obitu- aries a day in our local newspaper, but only 3-5
birth announcements a month. That seems pretty unsustainable...and I’m afraid it’s too late to fix.
Fewer babies means fewer young people. The largest share of the population be- comes elderly. Older popu- lations need more healthcare, social security and pensions, even as fewer workers are paying into those systems. Fewer young adults means labor shortages, and slow (or no) economic growth. As the population ages, suddenly there are fewer taxpayers and many more retirees. Governments have only a few options: raise taxes, cut benefits or increase public debt. In America, we’ve done all three. Those who have no chil- dren also lack traditional support structures in their old age... no kids to care for them. No family gather- ings, because there never was a family. America isn’t alone. Every European country has gone the same way. Birth rates among citizens of every Western nation are now well below replace- ment levels. Note that these are all formerly Christian nations.... and all have made personal choices to not have as many — if any — children. Maybe this is why so many Western governments have chosen to open their bor- ders to Islamic “migration jihad.” Muslim men have multiple wives and as many children as possible. Meanwhile, in former Christian nations, people choose to have cats and dogs instead of babies. How’s that working for us? I can see this happening everywhere here in Amer- ica, and even in my own family. My Mom was one of thirteen children. She had six kids. My wife and I had three. Of my five sib- lings, altogether, they had six children total. Thank- fully, I’m blessed in that all of my own children are being fruitful and multi- plying! It’s a real joy to be a grandparent. But I’m sad for those who will never experience this, and as I look at the quickly changing demographics of America now, I wonder if we’ll be able to survive as a nation another fifty years. So, in this matter of mar- riage and family, once again, God’s plan for

Wisconsin Christian News Is Reader Supported — Will You Help Keep WCN In Public News Racks?
Have you been blessed by picking up a copy of Wisconsin Christian News from a news rack in a public place? Do you appreciate the hard-hitting, thought provoking commentary, in- spired Bible teaching, and relevant (and truthful) news from around the world? Do you appreciate the fact that we pub- lish the TRUTH — whether it’s “politi- cally correct” or not? Do you like that we stand up for America’s historical Christian heritage, even as we urge a return to the moral, biblical standards that our nation once cherished? Wisconsin Christian News is a coop- erative effort by active Christ-followers from all walks of life. In our pages and on our website, you’ll find Information, Education and Inspiration, with a ma- jority of the articles written by members of our “WCN family” of contributors. WE HAVE SOME OF THE BEST CHRIS- TIAN WRITERS IN THE NATION IN OUR PAGES, FROM ALL OVER THE
COUNTRY — AND WCN IS NOT JUST FOR WISCONSIN! We have subscribers in all fifty states, distribute nationally, and our website is used by people WORLDWIDE! But while we provide valuable content to the Christian community, our real focus is on reaching those who are lost and seeking, or those who have been alienated from “church” as an institu- tion in the past. And especially those who have never heard the Good News of the Gospel of Christ, or have walked away from their faith and have contin- ued searching. The “free” copies you’ll find on the racks in lobbies of grocery stores, family restaurants, truck stops, bookstores, li- braries, hotels and other public places are our OUTREACH to those who oth- erwise would never get the truth of God’s Word or the truth of what’s re- ally going on in our world today.
paper, however, the revenue from our ads doesn’t come anywhere close to covering the enormous financial needs, which we must raise every month. For several years now, WCN has only been able to continue through the generous financial support of individuals — true Christ-followers who understand and support the ministry work we do. We are nearly 100% Reader Sup- ported now, yet of the thousands of copies we provide out in the public square, far fewer than 1% of those who pick a copy up every month ever send any type of support. This has now be- come unsustainable. Some have suggested we become an “online only” publication. But we hope you understand, if we were to do that, only those who are already Christians and who would go to our website pur- posely, would ever see it. This is why our print edition is VITAL — whereas
Every month, we distribute thousands of copies of Wisconsin Christian News free of charge, made available in public news racks. We also provide compli- mentary copies to jail inmates, shut- ins, and hospital patients. This is our ministry to those who are lost, hurting, confused and seeking the truth. We’ve had wonderful testimonies from people who have come to know the Lord for the first time, or returned to Him, after many years away, after finding and reading our newspaper in a public place. This is our outreach — and it truly is a ministry — our mission. But it costs a great deal of money to do this, and while we constantly receive requests for even MORE copies in these public areas, the costs to produce and distribute our printed newspaper con- tinue to rise every month.
We do have advertisements in the
a Bible tract or book handed to someone could easily be tossed aside, because we’re in newspa- per format, thousands of people pick up WCN each month — of their own freewill, because they want it! What better way to reach the unsaved, than for THEM to choose to pick up our newspaper on their own, be- cause something on our front page caught their attention? Then, eyes are opened and hearts and lives are changed. Very likely, we reach more un- saved souls out in public with God’s Word and truth in a sin- gle month than the average church will reach in its entire existence. This is not “boast- ing,” but rather the simple truth. Thus, we must maintain our print edition . This work is more vital now than ever before. Especially in this age of dis-in- formation and mis-information, political “spin” and radical left- ist “journalism.” But if Wisconsin Christian News is to continue as a print publication, available by sub- scription to Christians, as well as those thousands of free copies we place in public to reach the lost, we NEED YOUR HELP today! Please consider becoming a monthly Supporting Member of our ministry team. While so many readily fund overseas missionaries, THIS is a mis- sion — not in some far-off overseas land, but RIGHT HERE IN YOUR OWN BACK- YARD, where it’s so desper- ately needed. We’re asking for your help, and believe everybody can do something. Can you spare just $1 a day on a regular basis to assure WCN remains in print? Even less — $25 a month on a regular basis — would be a huge help if enough new sup- porters come alongside us. But if you’re truly not able to help fi- nancially, we ask that you please help prayerfully. With- out your help, we will not be able to continue this essential outreach much longer. Please prayerfully consider what YOU can and will do today, to make sure WCN is still there next month. Thank you, and God bless you.
