HONORS COLLEGE

The Honors College at Missouri Valley promotes the full potential of highly motivated students to distinguish themselves through challenging, enhanced academic experiences, meaningful co-curricular opportunities and close collaboration with faculty and fellow students. Coursework consists of an introductory seminar, a sequence of topical Honors seminars that substitute for general education courses, two “contract” courses in the student’s major, and a thesis. In addition, there is a full calendar of events, including guest lectures on topics ranging from bioethics to animal cognition, trips to historical sites and museums such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and more. Each semester, there are professional development workshops, and heavy Honors participation in the Student Research Symposium. And we’re excited to actively participate in the college’s use of Handshake, a career preparation tool MVC has acquired for student use. AT MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE
