VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations to Alisha & Chad Miles our September Volunteers of the Month for MADD Vermont! Earlier this year a memorial ride was held in honor of their 6 year old daughter Olivia who was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Alisha and Chad have made it their mission in Vermont to spread awareness about impaired driving in memory of Olivia raising over $19,000 to provide MADD programming in Vermont. Alisha has also been volunteering at community health fairs and will become a facilitator for youth programs. We are truly grateful for Alisha and Chad and will always remember Olivia!

We’re MADD About Our Volunteers! Thank you so much to the incredible individuals who take time out of their schedules to give to MADD New England. We are truly grateful for all that you do. Interested in becoming involved with MADD? Scan the QR Code or click here to find out more information.

Alisha and Chad Miles joined ⁦NHTSA to launch "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over", sharing the heartbreaking reason behind their resolve— Olivia, their precious daughter, taken by a drunk driver at just 6 years old. Their grief has fueled an unyielding determination to ensure no other family endures such pain. DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER

RULE THE ROAD

Alliance Highway Safety and VPA Vermont Principals' Association held a "Rule the Road" event at Essex High School to teach new and upcoming teen drivers the responsibility they hold, and how to be safe, when stepping behind the wheel. Alisha provided youth information to teens and parents.

Community donations are a key to success and raising funds for MADD New England as is event promotion for the businesses. We offer pre-event benefits to let our participants and constituents know of the generosity that we receive including social media posts, website recognition and event day signage. Our events raise the funds necessary to provide educational awareness programs to youth and their parents, provide advocacy programs at no cost to victims of alcohol-related crashes and their families, and to continue educating the community about the dangers of drinking and driving and underage drinking.

Interested in a sponsorship? Whether donating time, funding, or other resources, we are grateful for the generosity shown to us over the years. If you’d like to learn more about these opportunities, please reach out to your local office for more information.

Our country is facing a public health crisis: Impaired Driving. Mothers Against Drunk Driving has launched The MADD Network to unite diverse partners who share one vital mission: eliminating impaired driving. The MADD Network addresses this surge in impaired driving fatalities. The MADD Network offers exclusive benefits. The power of The MADD Network comes from each partner using their own platform to help educate their unique community about the dangers of driving while impaired, the need for underage drinking education/prevention, and legislative efforts that will drive real progress. We want you to join us in the fight against drunk driving. Together, let’s embark on a journey towards our bold goal: decrease impaired driving injuries and fatalities by 20% by 2026. Join the Movement to End Impaired Driving!

No matter where you live, you can save lives through Driving Change with MADD: Let Your Purchase Have a Purpose. This exciting campaign is a partnership with vehicle dealers committed to ending impaired driving. Dealerships select a one-month period to donate a portion of their profits per car/vehicle sold to support MADD's vital work. In return, we provide marketing materials & promotion to highlight the dealerships. We invite all vehicle dealerships (yes that includes boats, motorcycles & more!) to join us in this life-saving initiative. And all supporters to connect us to their local auto groups or vehicle dealerships. Visit www.madd.org/drivingchange to learn more and be part of the solution.
