Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 1972

As far back as I can remember, the only really important thing in my life was music. My father and mother sacrificed to the point of hardship to give their kids a musical education. ■ •#•***'< ' ' . #\\ **• * * i \ y y' *. / *• • > / ( ^ • • • ! v « • *. • v . ., * > ' * ^ ^ • When we were young we went to the mission on Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Sometimes we rebelled but dad was strong and affirmed "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. " At one Bible conference, three boy friends and I decided to enjoy ourselves by staying away from every meeting. On the fourth day two of the preachers sought us out. "Boys, either you come to the meet ings, or you go home fast. " "We'll come to the meetings. " "All right. There will be four seats reserved for you in the front row. If you’re not there, we’ll be after you, and don't think we won’t find you. " That night four pairs of knees bowed at die altar, and four young hearts were opened to the Savior!

The Lord led Harry Bollback to Brazil as a pioneer missionary to the primitive Indi ans where he labored for four years. He then became burdened to start a youth ministry patterned after die United States camping program of Word of Life. An outgrowth of the camp in Brazil is Palavra da Vida Bible Institute, where Christian youth are trained to be soul-winners, pastors, Christian businessmen, etc. A further outgrowth has been the Bible Club ministry which is reaching youth in the schools, churches or at special activities where they are invited. Not only in Brazil, but in Germany the Lord has provided two castle^ with facilities to reach young Europeans for the Lord. Camps have been established in Kenya, Argen tina, Australia, Ecuador and staff are now preparing for the Phillipines. God has given the vision to Word of Life of seeing camps established on every continent to reach the goal of 100 camps by 1980, that youth around the world may be reached with the Gospel.
