THE CLASS OF 1980
Crystal Gay Rush
September fourteenth of last year was Registration Day The Class of Eighty came to WOLBI • with a blast, we say? A tornado swept through Pottersville to welcome in our year We knew not all God had in store to show the students here. But as each day unfolded, there was so much to take in So here are a few of the many events - Oh where do I begin!
The choir tours were always exciting and thrilling - experience unique for each time Like Jeff Hackett’s drama while clothed in his armor as Burger King, he drew the line. Snow Camp, despite the fact of no snow, was great with the speakers and skits Our basketball team, that won all but one game played hard and they never would quit. A few other things within Council Hall happened, leaks, a pigeon, and C. B. intrusions Chuck Hall taught us, “Cheer (Jp Ye Saints” of the Lord which applied well for campused seclusion. Then there was Tom Taylor’s harmonica solo (I guess this is where it belongs) And then Pastor Stowell's ideas on antennae “Do you and your mom get along?” L. Barbieri took part in the spirit of Snow Camp while wearing his jeans The two weeks in Romans, a blessing to many defined many spiritual needs. The list could go on • like with deli food orders and laundry excursions to Schroon The year was fantastic - and most will agree that the end has come up much too soon. Let's not think of endings but rather beginnings our work for the Lord begins here We’ll press toward the mark as our goal, Class of ’80 Rememb'ring this one special year!
We’ll always remember those chapel announcements like, “Take out a clean sheet of paper . . The Monday Night Chapels - especially the movies they showed us by Dr. F. Schaefer. The banquets were special, each one very different a night of excitement and fun Like the Opening Banquet the weekend we came when nobody knew anyone.
I Then came Thanksgiving with Turkey Bowl football a race and a banquet to follow And then came the Valentine “Love - Word of Life - Style” to fill all the hearts that were hollow. Well, on to the morning, with breakfast at seven and classes that started at eight * With Davis and Scheide and all the guest speakers this year has really been great. Dear Dr. White with his OT Walk through and teaching us, “I Have a Song . . Then Chris led the singing to keep the tradition S with three-sixty-five voices strong. The classes began as we’d open in prayer as the Bible was taught to the end - God’s Word was expounded with truth and discernment while Peter put in his “Amens!” Remember the slides that we saw about Israel, “The BEST time to visit's October . . .“ Our group went - got snowed in and flooded by Jordan like hostages - four days held over.
