+ HISTORY LESSON

Prescott was founded in 1864 as a pioneer settlement on the edge of American civilization in what was then New Mexico-Arizona territory. The town was established as the Territorial Capital and designated as the County Seat of Yavapai County, one of four original territorial counties. Known to be a popular destination with a storied history, Prescott experienced most of its significant growth in the 1980s.

FAST FORWARD

While you likely won’t see anyone traveling its streets by caravan or horseback, Prescott is now home to over 45,000 residents and remains true to its frontier spirit and western pride.
