power of His resurrection. The resur rection power of Jesus Christ is avail able to each and every Christian. By appropriating the power of His resur rection, we can live a life of victory over sin. The power of Jesus Christ kept Him from being overcome of temptation. The same power is available to each of us whenever we are tempted. We can live lives that bring honor to the Name we bear. We don’t have to live lives that are defeated, dissatisfied, discontented, and useless to God and to our fellow men. The tremendous power of Christ’s resurrection can enable each of us—re gardless of age, sex, education, and all other considerations—to live lives of con stant victory, lives' that are acceptable to the Lord, fully pleasing in His sight. Remember this, that the power of the Lord Jesus Christ as exhibited in His marvelous resurrection is available for you! I am reminded of the fellow who did not know how to drive a car. He man aged to get the car started, and the motor ran well. He also learned that if he stepped on the accelerator the motor zoomed and roared with great power. But not knowing how to shift gears, he couldn’t make the car move. He got out and pushed the car down the street with the motor running all the time. The power was available but he didn’t use it. The average Christian is living a subnormal life, characterized by luke warmness, and is not enjoying the life of triumph in Christ. He is defeated by the devil and is bearing very little real fruit for his God and Saviour simply because he does not take advantage of the power that is available. We have this power because of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. That is the importance of His resurrection. “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” (2 Cor. 2:14).

we are just and righteous in His sight. Having justified us, God looks upon us without seeing our sin. It is as though we had never sinned against God in the first place. God cannot see our sin through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who has taken away the sin of the world. This great doctrine of justification stands or falls on the resurrection of Jesus Christ for if Christ did not rise from the dead, then we are still lost in sin and are of all men most miserable. He was raised for our justification. Jesus taught about eternal life. He offered to those who would believe in Him the gift of life that will never end. “ For the wages of sin is death; hut the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). He predicted that men would not believe Him, would not believe in His power to give eternal life, would therefore accuse Him of blasphemy for making such a claim and would crucify Him for that blasphemy. He also predicted that on the third day He would rise, thus prov ing that His claim was true, that He really did hold everlasting life in His own hand and had the power to give it as a gift to all who would believe Him and accept Him. When He rose from the tomb, He proved that this claim, too, could he believed as real truth. Because He rose from the dead, we be lieve that He has the power and the authority to forgive sin, and to bestow the gift of never-ending life. Finally, the fact that Jesus rose from the dead does prove His power in all things. No ordinary human being could rise from the dead in His own power. Only Jesus could do that. What power! In Philippians, we read of the “ power of his resurrection.” We may know the

Speaking to our General Secretary, Rev. Victor Buksbazen, during his re cent visit to Europe, a Christian min ister, who works in Berlin among the 80,000 sorely tried and stricken Jewish Christians and non-Aryans of Germany, had this to say: “ Our people are in need of more food if they are not to perish from hunger, and yet even more than calories, they need Christ to give them faith and hope.” THE FRIENDS OF ISRAEL MIS SIONARY AND RELIEF SOCIETY, INC., is laboring among the disinher ited, uprooted, and displaced Jewish remnant in Europe, as well as in every part of the world. Thousands of parcels of food and clothing are sent to the needy to alleviate their distress. Our missionaries and representatives in Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, England, North Africa, Palestine, and fhe United States, witness to them con cerning Christ, bringing faith and new hope and comfort into their wrecked lives. $10.00 will supply a family of four with essential food to keep them from starving for one week. $50.00 will make possible a Christian testimony among these people for a month. Will you help them in the hour of their great affliction for His sake? THE FRIENDS OF ISRAEL MISSIONARY AND RELIEF SOCIETY, INC. 728-K Witherspoon Building Philadelphia 7, Pa. President Joseph M.
