A fun lit tle car with personalit y, we present this fine example of the special MINI Countr yman designed by Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis finished in monotone almond green (Dupont). From 1961 to 1969, 99,000 units were built. Though still essentially a two -door estate (wagon), it was the original MINI with the double “barn” door st yle rear doors with wood accents. It was built on a slightly ex tended chassis compared to the standard coupé. It is powered by an overachieving 34 bhp 848cc inline-4- cylinder engine fed by a single 1.25 SU carburetor matched to a 4-speed three synchromesh transmission using the “Magic wand” shif ter with a top speed of 116 km/ h (72 mph). The electrics are powered by a Lucas generator. It features an original-floor push star t ignition, original-floor dimmer light switch, single center binnacle speedometer, uses a cable t ype door opener, uses original rosewood trims from the U.K ., Dunlop steel rims with stainless full Deluxe MINI hub caps, and original ratchet jack. It had a full from the ground-up restoration that star ted in 2006 and ended in 2007.
