Ellingson Angus "Real-World Genetics" Bull & Female Sale [2/7/26]

Lakota brings forth a new-generation, outcross pedigree, yet is still grounded by the same fundamentals we have prioritized in breeding cattle and that our long- time commercial customers have come to expect. Lakota is proving to be a valuable breeding piece. He was utilized with success on virgin heifers, siring calves that were born easy, yet were medium sized, jet black and vigorous. Like him, the bull calves have grown into husky, big-bodied individuals, and the females, like his mother, are angular and easy fleshing. His donor dam has burst into the spotlight with a production record that speaks for itself and a front-pas- ture, maternal elegance. Her excellence lies within the traits that matter most – fertility, foot and udder quality and durability. Coming from the Bells Girl cow

family, the offspring have optimal foot structure and next-level foot hardness, which will further promote soundness. He is owned with Alta Genetics.

Ellingson Lakota 5309 leads off a strong first calfcrop from Lakota. Alongside his dam in the pasture this past summer, the pair was a sight to behold. He has the set standard for his contemporaries in terms of the pounds required to be a leader in the pack, earning a 117 weaning ratio. His commanding herdbull presence and gentle-natured disposition will make him a favorite on sale day. His dam’s strong production resume – a progeny birth ratio of 3/97, a nursing ratio of 3/113 and a yearling ratio of 2/102 and having settled to first-service A.I. every year of her production career thus far – earned her a spot on our donor roster in 2025. She is arguably the best Profound daughter we own and will play a major role in our breeding program moving forward. The individual trait components Lot 53 has and the superior maternal lineage that anchor him make him deserving of utilization beyond the breeding pasture. A maternal brother to Lot 53 was selected by Buck Ward, while a maternal sister is working here on our ranch.
