The traditional “stockmen’s bull” body type never goes out of style at Ellingson Angus. We understand they are usually the bulls best suited to provide our customers with the most years of breeding service. Lot 67 has that husky build that will be popular on sale day. His Pathfinder granddam is a long-standing contributor on our donor roster and has sons featured in this offering as Lots 128-135. Our schedule each fall only allows so much time to accomplish photos for this catalog, so many lots go unpictured, even though they deserve to be. This is undoubtedly one of those bulls!

This well-balanced Lakota son is one you will admire in per- son for his length of body and ample stoutness. His 2-year- old Blockade dam is another wedge-shaped, angular matron with udder and foot design built for the long haul. Plus, she raised a calf that weaned 5 percent heavier than the average of his counterparts and settled back to first-service A.I. for another Lakota-sired calf to be born this spring.

Here is a double-digit CED bull that still ranks at breed average for birthweight. That is truly a combination hand- made for ranchers who calve in cold or challenging weather. Lot 69 should provide you with calving ease to minimize dystocia issues, but pair it with a bit more birthweight to sire thriftier calves at birth and, ultimately, heavier live calves at weaning. His angular 2-year-old dam has settled back to first-service A.I. for another early calf to be born this spring.

Lot 66, Ellingson Lakota 5028.
