Ruby Cattle Co. - Annual Bull Sale [2/7/26]

Cattlemen, Breeding cattle is no more than a work of art with a plan and a distinct course to follow. The cattle a true stockman breeds must fit the environment, climate, and general surroundings the stock will encounter. Selection and sorting pressures will be applied along the way, and when an outfit has been dedicated for two decades to making the cattle fit the mold and increasing profitability, that stockman knows whether the plan and the course have worked. However, if one is a seedstock supplier that has built and expanded a customer base from scratch with high retention and moderate growth, the plan has worked and should continue with each new genetic investment along the way. Nate Ruby has more than proved himself to be a great stockman and a steward of the land. His strength of mind and relentless pursuit of surpassing industry standards are noble and notable. The genetic investments and transitions he has made over the past decade continue to set his family’s operation apart from the nation’s best, and they have satisfied the large customer base he claims to have. The cattle in the pages of this book tell the story and define the journey that Nate, his wife Leslie, and their two boys have experienced. It is the American Dream they have pursued and continue to live, but as many of you know and understand that journey and life mission is not for the faint of heart. Ruby Cattle Company has always believed in submitting data to the Association, and when genomics was introduced, Nate made himself a student of that technology as well. The number of records and performance information in this book would be unmatched by a few other outfits within this same endeavor, and that alone is what drives many of the progressive cattlemen and women to this annual bull and female offering at 1170 Elk Street, Murray, Iowa, the first Saturday of February. For those who have not invested in the R Bar Diamond brand, you should know that Ruby Cattle Company strongly believes in what they do, and they run the cowherd like many commercial producers do relying on the god given resources and minimal inputs. There is zero toleration of any undesirable trait that hinders longevity and no excuses made for poor performance and conversion. Nate feeds the steer mates to the bulls in the offering so that he experiences what you will experience when you acquire your Ruby Cattle Company genetic package. They also have sisters and the dams of the bred females in the sale that work day in and day out to keep profitability within the operation. The cattle will work for you, instead of you working for them and that is fact! If you’re reading this sale book and would like to view the cattle before February 7, we encourage you to attend the open house on January 31, 2026, or contact Nate anytime to schedule your in person visit. Please feel free to reach out to Nate, Leslie, or their loyal hired man, Keegan for any questions or additional information about the stock in the sale. The team at Innovation AgMarketing is honored to work with this hardworking family and their program, so don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us if you should need any assistance with buying or general information gathering on or prior to sale day.
