church, we have access to many other believers who might have more knowledge of that portion of the Bible than we do, or maybe they have been through some experiences in their life that have helped them to understand it better. The list goes on and on with ways that being involved in the body of Christ helps us in our daily discipline and pursuit of the spending time in the Bible. Finally, let me wrap up this chapter with this thought. I have had young people tell me, “Well you don't understand, my church doesn’t have cool people,” or “It’s all adults at my church, I don’t get anything out of it.” Maybe an excuse like that has been rattling around in your brain while you read this section about the importance of the church. You are probably right about the first part, I don’t understand. I don’t know your individual issues, or what you like or don’t like, but I know that God knows every single detail. He loves you so much that he died for you, and he has you where you are for a reason. He hasn't made a mistake or messed up. The Bible tells us that “ His ways are higher than our ways .” (Isaiah 55:9) In other words, he does stuff that we don’t always understand, but we can trust that he has a plan and that it’s the best one for us. I also know that the Bible does not specifically say, “Be involved in your local church if there is a cool youth group.” It simply says be a part of the body. My suggestion to you is to be a part of the body of Christ that is local to you - - no matter what. Just remember what I said before, your pastor needs to be preaching from the Bible and not adding anything to it. If you have a Bible-believing local church, you should attend it and get involved with all your heart. God has not forgotten about you. He has a plan for you. Try it out, and ask God to help you feel connected to the body of believers He has placed in your life.
