For the Record: 1. Zach is our good friend and does a great job whenever he goes rafting with us. We enjoy teasing him about his mistake that led to our ‘demise’ on The Otter Slide that day but he is an excellent whitewater paddler, and it's always fun to have him in the raft. 2. If this book has stirred your personal sense of adventure and you want to experience some whitewater first hand, I highly suggest going with a professional rafting company. You know the ones I described in the book that have matching helmets and paddles and most importantly, a professional guide. Then if you decide that you like the sport, you can think about getting your own raft. I do not recommend just setting out and learning the way we learned. 3. You can actually watch what happened on the famous Otter Slide, as the footage that our friend Eric took that day on his cell phone is on YouTube.
