Cultural Academy is a creative and educational three year experience. The program is held through six sessions over a three-week period and currently geared toward 1st- 3rd graders. They serve students by teaching emotional wellness through the experiences of diverse cultures using arts and crafts.
Cultural Academy presented by Wholistic Approaches 4 Life Inc. Year one sessions are as follows: Session 1 - Getting to Know Yourself & Others- A lesson on humanity/emotions Session 2 - Native Americans & You- A lesson in environmentalism & connectedness Session 3 - African Americans & You- A lesson in resilience Session 4 - Hispanic Culture & You- A lesson in families/support systems Session 5 - Ancestors & You- A lesson in choices/purpose Session 6 - You Can Be the Difference- A lesson in empowerment of self by using our gifts to show love to the world In partnership with The Saline County Library, students can take advantage of a FREE on-site program at the Saline County Library, Benton location. The on-site programs are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM-5:15 PM. They begin March 7th. A maximum of 10 students are allowed, in each group. Registration is required and open now.
