Award Winning Digital Content

Investing in technology ensures that TPT can provide more personalized programming and accessible programming to audiences. The installation of a new antenna in the summer of 2023 was the first step to converting TPT broadcast to NEXTGEN TV, the next evolution of broadcast technology. NEXTGEN TV improves efficiency of broadcast and will provide a stronger signal to those at the edges of our coverage area. In the future, the technology will allow TPT to provide more personalized viewing experiences to viewers and serve as an essential resource for first responders during community emergencies. Technology for the Future of Television

TPT is recognized across the PBS system for our innovative digital content. In addition to local digital series, TPT produces two national award-winning series – Subcultured and Sound Field – for PBS Digital Studios. Subcultured is an original documentary series that sheds a light on lesser-known subcultures that inspire and influence mainstream culture today. Sound Field is a popular music education series. This year, Sound Field premiered a hip-hop focused season to align with PBS’s promotion of Fight the Power , a documentary on the history of hip-hop.
