T he CIPP knows that payroll provides a fantastic career path, with many avenues to take. Yet, some who are unfamiliar with the industry may not see the diversity available to them. The key skills of payroll professionals are transferable to many different types of roles. These skills include:
● leadership ● legislative and compliance knowledge ● numerical ● confidentiality. The list is endless. These skills make payroll professionals highly sought- after individuals, capable of adapting to different challenges that aren’t just about delivering a day-to-day payroll. Opportunities are available in-house and in outsourced payroll services. Those who are drawn to project work could look at becoming consultants and support payroll implementations. They could work in business development and sales,
supporting potential clients in choosing the right software for them. Payroll is global, and international opportunities are increasing across the recruitment market, with the opportunity to travel abroad with your role. Interested to find out more?
