Thanksgiving is one of the most special times of the year because it encourages us to focus on all the good in our lives. Right before we cut into the turkey, many Americans take a second to go around the table and share what they feel thankful
Of course, you can’t mention Thanksgiving without talking about the food! These days, my husband and I team up to cook our Thanksgiving feast. I take care of the turkey, while he
operates as a sous chef, chopping up everything and helping out with the side dishes. However, we weren’t always the greatest cooking team.
for. We all have things in our lives that fill us with gratitude, so make sure you take some time this Thanksgiving to share your appreciation for the good things in your life. So many incredible things in my life bring forth feelings of gratitude. Like many of you, the first things that come to mind include my health, home, beautiful family, and friends. I’m grateful for the beautiful weather and the opportunity to watch my grandbaby grow. Over the past year, I’ve made so many wonderful memories with my loved ones, and I’ll take a little extra time this November to reflect and appreciate all of them!
My husband never learned how to cook as a child, so he had no passion for it or interest in starting. He could make simple dishes, but that was about it, so I decided I would help him learn. I signed us up for HelloFresh, which sends you a recipe and all the ingredients you need to make it. His skills quickly improved until they reached a point where he didn’t have to depend on HelloFresh for ingredients or recipes. He actually made me something a few weeks ago that was so delicious; I was
surprised but delighted! If you want to instill a love of food or cooking in your children, make sure they start learning how to make some recipes from an early age. Otherwise, it could be a few decades before they begin exploring the wonderful world of cooking!
When I pause for a moment to reflect on the good in my life, two unique things come to mind that others may not experience. The first is my patients. I am incredibly thankful for each of you! It’s a privilege to provide my services to you, and I’m so grateful you place your trust in me and my team to help you achieve the smile of your dreams. Many of you have returned the appreciation by referring your friends and family to me. I don’t take it for granted! I appreciate every moment and interaction with you, and I love seeing your shining smile whenever you finish treatment! I’m also grateful for my team. Without them, I could not do what I do to help our community with their oral health. They work together flawlessly and pick each other up whenever someone is feeling down. Our office truly feels like its own family!

WHEN TO BOOK YOUR CHILD’S FIRST ORTHO APPOINTMENT Braces Aren’t Just for Teens
When you have children, you often think and plan ahead to keep them safe and catch anything that could go wrong before it becomes a reality. During their first year on this planet, you take them to countless doctors’ appointments to ensure they’re still developing on pace with kids their age and that they receive any treatment they need. Around their first birthday, the doctor may ask whether you’ve scheduled a dentist appointment yet. But what about the first orthodontic appointment? When should it take place, and what can you expect? Many parents believe they should wait until their kid reaches their teenage years before going to the orthodontist because that’s when the parents first received braces or started orthodontic treatment as kids, but this might not be the best approach. The
American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children experience their first orthodontic examination by age 7.
