CAN CHIROPRACTIC CARE SAVE YOU FROM THE CORONAVIRUS?
When the going gets tough, the tough get going, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here at the office. A lot of people are reading this and saying to themselves, “So, Doc, where’s the connection with my adjustment and the coronavirus or other viruses?” Well sit back, and let’s talk about that. I guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed. You may not know about the Spanish flu because that was a long, long time ago. In 1918, the Spanish flu killed more people (50 million globally) than any similar outbreak in history. In the midst of this epidemic, the health care community discovered that the death rate of chiropractic patients was radically lower than that of nonchiropractic patients! Did you know that? I bet you didn’t! During that time, researchers in Davenport, Iowa, found that of the 93,590 patients treated by medical doctors, 6,116 died — 1 out of 15. Chiropractors adjusted 16,035 cases with only one death. Now that’s a lot better than 1 out of 15! Statistics were similar across the country. Most people do not think that an adjustment to the neck and back is going to have any influence on their
health. I am here to tell you that research doesn’t say that! There are many other studies showing that spinal adjustments positively influence every aspect of your body’s function. The one study that had the most impact on me was a study done by Dr. Ron Pero, chief of cancer prevention research at New York’s Preventive Medicine Institute. He compared the immune systems of people under chiropractic care to those of the general population and those with cancer and other serious diseases. He found that individuals who had been under chiropractic care for five years or more were found to have
200% greater immune competence than those who had not received chiropractic care, and they also had a 400% greater immune competence than those people with cancer and other serious diseases. The immune system’s superiority in those people under chiropractic care did not appear to diminish with age. That means it worked as good for younger people as it did for older people.
