BEEFMASTERS P.O. Box 2947, Laredo, Texas 78044-2947, (361) 586-5067 or (210) 912-7080
Dear Beefmaster Breeders, You are all cordially invited to our Carr and Others Fall Program Friday after- noon 10/10/25 and sale on Saturday morning 10/11/25 at our Wilson County Di- vision eight miles West of Floresville, Texas, on Highway 97 in our comfortable cattle sale facility. This will be our second year to conduct this sale without Bill. Our “crew”, Mike & Cheryl Redding, Luis Ayala, and our son Kirk have gone above and beyond to put together our sale offering and I know Bill would be proud of their efforts and results. Our other “crew”, Anthony & Harriet Mihalski and Anthony, Jun- ior have made this whole sale process possible. Our continuing objective in conducting this sale event is not only to provide the opportunity to buy quality, functional cattle from eight long standing programs that have served BBU in many capacities and earned numerous awards over the years, but to educate, entertain, provide some good meals and an opportu- nity to socialize in a very comfortable environment. Our sale cattle are developed on grass pastures and should be so evaluated.
This year’s record breaking period of heat and extreme drought at our operations adversely impacted our weights and sonogram carcass evaluations, but not our genetic advantages. All of the pictures of cattle in this catalog were taken in August in pasture condition. Our longtime seedstock guest consignors this year will be: Joe & Beverly Wittenburg, Dave & Cheri Moore, Bob & Bonnie Siddons, Tony & Karen Psencik, Tyler & Wesley Gwosdz and Dr. Jim & Pam Colvin. We are again very fortunate to have excellent speakers for our Friday afternoon educational program. They and their topics are: Dr. Joe Paschal, “Back To Basics”: A brief revisit of the factors that support production, drive profitability and sus- tain a beef production enterprise. Assuming record high prices equate to exceptional profitability, what are some opportunities for improvement worth considering? Dr. Rick Machen, “What Lies Just Ahead?”: A look at the drivers of record high beef industry prices and factors that will influence these drivers in the near future. Dr. T.R. Lansford, III, DVM, “New World Screwworm (NWS) Update & Information About Screwworm”: NWS has rapidly re-established itself in Central America and Mexico since 2023. Dr. Lansford will provide information on what NWS are, potential impacts if they reach the U.S., some clinical considerations and management, updates on the situation in Mexico and updates on preparedness and response efforts to date. Dr. Lance Bauer, BBU Executive Vice President: “BBU Updates”. Live bidding will be available through DV Auction for those not able to join us at the sale facility. See the catalog for further details or contact the sale managers, or Luis Ayala, Hilltop Ranch (956/231-7131), Jon Garza, Director of International Programs for BBU (512/517-5163) or Noe Lopez (956/639-3929) for assistance. Those last three named speak fluent Spanish. We will do everything reasonably possible to accommodate your needs and satisfy you with your purchases. I am looking forward to visits and hugs with all my Beefmaster friends, both old and new I’ve missed since Bill’s passing.
Cordially,
Bill & Dusty Carr
