with Christ in God is eternally secure. Yes, “ The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, . . . and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together” ! W e comfort our selves in* these sure words, and say, "His will be done! It will not be long now. Come, Lord Jesus, come!” WHAT THE BIBLE HAS MEANT IN MY LIFE [Continued from page 338] Secondly, it is profitable for reproof; that is, it shows us where we are wrong, both as to doctrine and behavior. It is all-important to let the Bible sit in judgment on our thoughts and ways, and not to take the attitude o f the mod ernists who attempt to sit in judgment upon its holy ut terances. Following this, it is profitable for correction, for it not only exposes the error of our ways, but it shows us the path o f life. Lastly, it is profitable for instruction in righteousness, marking out for us the good way in which we may walk and find rest for our souls. What a matchless treasure God has committed to us in giving us this blessed Book of Life and preserving it for us throughout the centuries! Personally, I shall never be able to praise Him enough for giving me to see the im portance o f “ seeking it as hid treasure.” Bible Study in Correspondence School To Bible students it is of interest to know that the Bible Institute Correspondence School offers valuable Bible study courses, costing from one to ten dollars. Among some o f the many fields o f study is the Bible Beginners’ Course and the Old or New Testament History courses. Complete information may be secured from the Corre spondence School o f the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Mongolia’ s Missionary, Hulda E. Wiklund Miss Hulda E. She plans to leave from there, crossing Russia on her return to Mongolia. Miss Wiklund may be contacted through either o f the two following addresses: 1519 Hoyt Ave., Everett, Wash., or Lararennornas Missions Forening, Viktoriagatan 6, Gothenburg, Sweden. O f special interest to young people is the Victory Circle hour from 6:30 to 7:15 P.M., when George Jackson, Elmer Olson, Rodney Rood, and C. B. Whitwell follow the theme "Live Christ" through the various phases of daily living. The song leader for this hour of young people's fellowship is Woodrow Rood; the pianist, Evelyn Brown, and those giving instrumental music are Mary Ann Nyman and Audrey Talbot. September 5, 6, and 7, will be devoted especially to a Young People's Retreat. The Palisades Assembly Grounds, twenty-one miles from Los Angeles, are easily accessible by auto, Pacific Electric cars, and bus. Accommodations are very reasonable. of Tyre, standing there in all its glory on an island in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Palestine, would some day be made “ like the top of a rock . . . a place to spread nets upon” (Ezek. 26:14) ? Go, visit that spot today, and be hold ! There, beneath the sea, are the stones that once were Tyre. There the conqueror dragged them to build his causeway to the mainland, unconsciously fulfilling the Word* o f G o d : “ And they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water” (v. 12|sj The island, scraped barren of Tyrian glory, is to this day “ like the top o f a rock.” Go today and see the fishermen, after the morning’s catch, spreading their nets to dry and to mend— and doubt no m ore! It has been a matter of won derment to us that the world’s scoffing unbelievers, always endeavoring with might and main to overthrow the Word o f God, have not attempted to rebuild that city, inasmuch as the Eternal has said: “ Thou shalt be built no more.” We offer this suggestion to them. W e understand that the project was attempted once, and an earthquake ended the endeavor. The Bible is a Book of literally hundreds upon hundreds o f prophecies, writings in which those who wrote declared “ the things that are to come.” And what single prophecy has failed to come true when its time for fulfillment arrived? Even as we write, prophecy after prophecy is meeting with marvelous fulfillment. P ractical V alue in P rophetic S tudy Prophecy is far from being the only evidence that the Word of God— the Bible— is true. But it is the evidence that steadied one young preacher thirty years ago, and saved him when assailed by doubt. No wonder that, ever sinqe, he has reveled in studying it! No, prophecy is not the only fortress on “ the impregnable rock o f the Holy Scriptures,” but Fort Prophecy is the one fort on that Gibraltar upon which unbelievers seldom frain their guns. And little do we wonder ! Fort Prophecy stands ! And with it stands faith in the Lord God o f Israel, and faith in His W o rd ! Thirty years have passed. And now the sole playmate in the home with little Glenn-ghis sister— is also at the Portal. The doctors say she must soon pass through. But there is now no doubt.. Doctors, however, do not always reckon with the power of God. God, with a word, if He wills, can raise the dead. However, whether He wills or not, there is no darkness. There is no quarrel with the S heavenly Father. He makes no mistakes. The old Book, with its promises, can only be the Book of the God who caftnot lie. His is a word immutable. The life that is hid T HE Bible Institute of Los Angeles, with the Church of the Open Door cooperating, goes forward with the Second Summer Bible Conference, in session from August 24 to September 7, 1936, at the Pacific Palisades Assembly Grounds, near Santa Monica, Calif. Outstanding speakers have been chosen, and have been giving inspirational messages afternoon and evening, with the morning hours devoted to teaching from the Epistles to the Romans, Philippians, and Ephesians. Speakers who are giving special series of lectures are Norman B. Harrison, Harlin J. Roper, and James Henry Hutchins. With such spirit ual food, and with such pleasant surroundings as the Assembly Grounds afford, a wealth of blessing awaits the one who places himself in the postion to partake. For rest, recreation, and refreshment of body and soul, no better place could be found to spend a few days.
