WHAT IS A HOME INSPECTION? A home inspection is a visual inspection of structures and components of a home to find items that are not performing correctly, unsafe items and items that violate the code at the time the house was built or remodeling occurred. If a defect or a symptom of a defect is found, the home inspector will include a description of the defect in a written report and may recommend further evaluation. Cosmetic issues should not appear on an inspection report. CAN THE BUYER ASK THE SELLER TO MAKE REPAIRS? The due diligence paragraph allows the buyer to give an amendment to the seller to "address concerns" with the property, which would be repaired.
